Do you do a christmas stocking for your DP?

And what do you put in it?
DH and I have always done stockings for each other. He ususally gets socks, underwear, hankies, a joke CD (cheesy 80s hits or something) chocolate, bath stuff, an earring etc. Maybe some stationery - like me he has a bit of a stationery fetish.
Does anyone else do this and if so what do you put in your partner's stocking?

Well, he's not my Dad either, but he still does one for me. And when my mum spends Christmas with us, I do one for her too. She loves it.

I include much of the stuff you do LadyG. What about beer, magazine, usually post it notes, shower gel, something for the car like scraper or chamois, sweets. Shops like M&S and BHS often have novelty things like tiny screwdrivers or a key ring with a light...I ususally include some such tat.

I love stockings.

NBG, my DH is extremely good at doing mine - I usually get loads of lovely bath stuff, stationery, knickers etc. AND CHOCOLATE!

We did when we had money, pre mortgage.

We Never put anything practical in there though, only things that were fun, silly and the odd norty thing .. it definitely wasn't a stocking his mum would have given him

Yes. Everyone in the family gets a kilt sock with bits and pieces saved throughout the year.
We do not exchange 'big' presents with each other as it is needless.
I think the tin of tuna was a bit disappointing though and only got shoved into the sock to fill it out.

We started doing stockings for our parents when we left home (returning for Christmas!!). They were fun to do and as three were contributing to each were quite exciting.

Now me and DH do one for each other as well as the DDs' They have small and usefull or small and funny (DH keen to give me 'useful' kitchen utensils) and the requisite book.

I do one for my DH and will also do ones this year for my mother and her boyfriend who will be staying with us.

However chances are DH will not do one for me so i will do one for myself. Can't complain though as having eternity ring from DH.

i do one for my DH. put chocolates, a small puzzle of some kind, socks, and a gift voucher in it and anything else i think of! the kids also pick a little something for him, a keyring or something and i tell them that i will send them to santa to put in daddys stocking, and they are amazed when the little things they bought him turn up in DHs stocking!

yes - he gets boxers, socks, toblerone. OUt stockings are only small.

DH and I do stockings for each other. As we are now in our 50's, have no living parents and a grown up child, we wouldn't have many gifts otherwise! DH's has often included golf accessories, wine accessories, food related stuff, expensive toiletries, etc.

T.K.Maxx usually has good mens accessories, belts, wallets, bags, ties, socks, mini torches and so on. (One year I got a leather credit card wallet for DH from there.)

It's nice to get a surprise.

I need some ideas for non tat things for a countrylover/sci- fi fan.

I started doing two hampers yesterday and my brain is frazzled.

We always do stockings for each other. His HAS to include a chocolate orange and he is the only man in the world, surely, to like novelty socks and wear them all year round?! This usually includes small presents but if money allows I also put a small pair of cufflinks in.

Mine will also include a chocolate orange and usually a small book of some kind.

It's quite fun. We used to be really sad and try to put them at the end of our bed overnight so they were a 'surprise' in the morning. I don't think I ever woke him up but he ALWAYS woke me up by trying to put in presents that were too big and wrapped in foil paper. He never realised I had bought a duplicate stocking for him and just swapped them over when I heard him snoring!!

We now hang them on our mantlepiece and we'll do the same for our DS who will be having his first christmas this year!!

yes we do. DH is very good with mine, and often fills it with books, DVDs and CDs he knows I will appreciate that he has bought second hand from Oxfam. I buy simialr for him, and boxers, socks and chocolate too.;

oh, and one year I put a tin of tuna in his - to signify a tuner for the stereo that he had hinted he wanted but I did not know exactly what to buy so the tuna was a hint for him to buy one after Christmas.
