Christmas gift ideas when away skiing with older children

I’m sure this has been asked a thousand times or more but I’ve searched and can’t find anything.
What do you do about gifts if you are skiing over Christmas? I haven’t got littlies, they are 16 and 23 but we do tend to spoil them at Christmas as we don’t throughout the year. Do you just take a couple of little gifts and just ski on Christmas Day and is that not disappointing? I know skiing is a gift in itself.

The novelty will be skiing on Christmas and whatever you’re doing for Christmas lunch. The presents won’t be the main event, a couple of small things are fine.

Maybe multible small gift cards.. for clothes, coffee shops or foodora, cinema, streaming subscription..wrap them all nicely!

We were away for Christmas last year and we did our normal Christmas morning on the day we left home, which was a couple of days before 25th.

So we did stockings on the beds for them to wake up to, then downstairs to see what “Father Christmas” had left under the tree (they are older teenagers so they know he doesn’t exist!), had a posh breakfast, then all got dressed and we headed off to the airport.

On 25th it was much like any other holiday day.

You could get some nice things to make the holiday even more special-Wham last Christmas vibes. Matching cosy slippers, a board game, marshmallows to toast on a fire if you have one, a mini bottle of champagne each.
We did a sort of secret santa where you had to buy something for that person.to wear skiing on Christmas day.
Depending on the resort you could look at experience gifts-lots of resorts have roller coaster type luges now, or dog sledding or a horse drawn sleigh etc.

Thank you, some good ideas - especially like the something to wear skiing on Christmas Day!

When we were traveling on Christmas we told our kids that due to the lovely expensive holiday, Christmas presents would be more low-key than usual. They got a few smaller things and some fun consumable snacks. They were old enough to understand this and be appreciative.
