What’s a girly girl? Does it mean pink stuff?

usererror99 · 25/08/2026 12:37

sewing machine
lego
books
robux
merch relating to hobby and Harry Potter

(I don’t know many 10 year olds playing with polly pockets not sure if they have had their day!)

I've bought DD9 a Loungefly backpack (from Vinted) as her main present.
Other items I've bought, or are on the ideas list, include;

Pilot pool party erasable gel pens
Cinnamoroll/Hello Kitty notebook
Cute sticky notes
Crocs crossbody/waist bag (but possibly not because she's getting the backpack)
Monster high books
Monster high doll
Winter pyjamas
Axolotl blanket
Cuddly otter
Tiny fake plant in a Capybara pot

She got a Fuji Instax mini camera (& matching photo album) for her 9th birthday and that was a hit.

DD isn't really into Lego either but she liked this floral heart set

What about a super soft dressing gown?

Hair accessories
Washable hairsprays (colorful or glowing ones)
A set of glitter gel pens
Cute stationery
Gift card to an accessorie store maybe?
Fruit snacks
Something for her room like a lava lamp or fairy lights
Something related to her favorite artist or a show (like a poster calendar with them or a t-shirt with their print, could be something from the official or fanmade merch collections)
Jewellery making kit

My DD is 8. She slightly obsessed with her Build-a-Bear and the moment so thinking of getting her the wardrobe and a few outfits/shoes.

Other ideas I’ve had are…
Matilda the Musical tickets
Dreaded squishie toys (hate them but she loves them!)
Football top
Some kind of art/craft/baking set but not sure what

She loves Horrible Histories. I was going to get her the Stupid Deaths game but noticed it was age 12+ so now wondering if it’s unsuitable. Does anyone have it and could tell me why it’s aimed at 12+? We have the HH board game.

Here is my 9yos list this year

Squisheys big and small & needough
Robux Credit
Art supplies
Bling it Kit

What I’ve got as well - mini Karaoke machine, penguin plush toy, another soft toy in her favourite colour, hello kitty earrings.

This is the karaoke machine, it’s 50% off at the moment.

Sorry what do they actually do with a 3D pen? I’ve googled it after seeing on your list but still not sure! My 9yo loves crafts so thinking could get her one. Thanks for the ideas!

We got all my DC a subscription to a magazine each last year and they've been huge hits. DD (9) got a subscription to Girl Talk Magazine last year and has really enjoyed it (plus the novelty of getting something in the post each month). There are all sorts, I'm looking at either the national geographic kids one or the Horrible Histories one for her this year.

One of my friends last year also got her DD a debit card (think Go Henry or similar) and gave that on xmas along with a purse. Her DD was pleased because it was grown up. Think I may steal this idea this year! Although will probably go for one of the monzo kids cards as they don't have a monthly subscription.

Depending how talented they are they can make all sorts. My dd has made little boxs and traces over pictures to make them into 3d shapes like these.
