Christmas Decorations - Do you put other stuff away?

Just wondering if people put there regular year round decor / ornaments away before decorating for Christmas or if you just work around it? I’m trying to make decorating a bit easier this year.

Put away, I’ve got far too much Christmas stuff. I also swap out pictures from the walls for Christmas themed pictures.

Yes, as Christmas decs are got out, normal items are put away in the same boxes & packaging.
Same goes for Christmas crockery & glasses, the day to day stuff is put away in the cupboards that normally hold the Christmas items.

I put things in the empty decorations boxes. I have a collection of cat ornaments and these get replaced by my collection of Santa Clauses. Partly it’s because things look less bare when the decorations come down if they’re replaced by other stuff and partly because it would look far too cluttered if I left the non Christmas stuff out. But we have a lot of decorations. It’s a big job putting them all out then putting them away.

I don't have decorations (cats like to test The Gravity Theory ) but I do swap normal day-to-day things for Christmas ;
Bathroom/ toilet hand- towels
Bathroom/toilet loo roll
Hand soap
Drinking straws
Kitchen towels
Bedding ( Winter not Christmas )

The bedding gets stored in the attic . Everything else gets used up .

I pride myself on being super organised with systems and a plan for everything. I also go a bit made with Christmas decs.

But I have never even considered this GENIUS idea!! It’s so stressful trying to find space for everything - this year I’ll just box up a load of normal stuff first!!! Thank you

I have a few photos frames on the mantle and sideboard, they go away and are replaced with Christmas decorations. I also move the glass ornament on the lounge windowsill and replace it with a decorative Christmas light.

I do the same - use the decorations storage boxes to put the ‘regular’ stuff in.

Put the normal stuff away in the box the xmas decs come out from. Our Christmas Decs permeate every single room and include cushions, bathmats, teatowels, doorstops etc etc. I dont need 2 doorstops in place for one door, 2 bathmats for one bath etc, so the one gets put away and replaced with the seasonal one temporarily. Same for majority of oyr decs.

I have a lot of Christmas stuff, but I don't have a lot of Non Christmas stuff on display,

I put Christmas hand towel towels, tea towels, et cetera out but the ordinary ones just go with the other ordinary ones once they've been washed they're not swapped as such.

Same with things like Christmas mugs, these room to add the Christmas mugs without needing to put others away.
