Wow. I thought that now we're back to school and work for the past week, normality would resume, but nope. Its my ds2's birthday tomorrow, which were looking forward to. But I miss being off altogether, getting up when we want, going to bed when we want, eating and drinking rubbish, good movies lol I know there's a lot of ppl on MN who hate christmas. I don't love it as such but I love the atmosphere. I am soooo tempted to watch a Christmas film tonight 🤣

Oh i’ve come to this board looking for a thread like this.

What a miserable day it’s been! I feel so sad, I’m really missing Christmas today. The atmosphere, the lights and decorations, the fabulous food, the festive events!

I actually really like January, but I do miss Christmas and can’t stop thinking about all of the lovely things I want to do from November 1st.

Has anyone booked anything for Christmas ‘26 yet? We’ve booked the Polar Express.

Tell me about the polar express please ❤️

are you my 12 years old who misses every holiday, every Christmas, every past year

we still have the tree....it is going soon but not right now

I’m really missing it too. As I was walking home today I thought a house still had their lights on, but it was just a breakdown van. It really upset me as I miss the lights on the houses so much, DD really understood Christmas this year and it was so magical, I don’t feel ready to leave that behind and carry on with the year just yet.

Yep, missing it here too.
Only tonight have we taken down our outside lights, I hate January.
We have got panto booked so far for December

@soccermum10 I love Christmas 🎄 all year round. I watch Christmas movies all year round 😝🥰🎄. Go for it! Life can be too short. My Christmas tree 🎄 is still up and I have a few more ornaments I’m going to add.

@soccermum10 That’s what i’ve been doing too - watching Christmas tv/specials that I didn’t get a chance to watch in Nov/Dec because I was so busy! I actually think January/Winter is a wonderful time to watch them.

@Sohelpmegod25 Oh it looks magical! You’re literally whisked off on a train ride to the “North Pole” like in the movie. The actors re-enact the story with singing and dancing, and you’re served hot chocolate and cookies. Father Christmas turns up too.

Please can you message me the details sounds lovely 🥰

I really miss it too! I just love everything about December. All the planning and the prep, the glitter, the social events, the decorations, the festive TV, the food, the colours, the wrapping, the music, the lights, the lists…. It’s just heaven. There’s always such great atmosphere.

I've done some watercolour easy images for Christmas cards and tags and I've started some really lovely felt ornaments and also started granny squares for a crochet blanket

Oh my gosh, felt ornaments! What are you making? I’m going to look for some little felt mice next year.

I dislike January. Hopefully my last January working though may need to work until March next year for ni contributions
