Where’s all the Marzipan??

I’ve tried a couple of my nearest supermarkets and there’s none! Considering the number of people I know who can’t stand it, who’s buying it all??

Yes, I know my cake should or could’ve been finished earlier but it was a last minute change of plan! It’s a bought rich fruit cake, already well fed with rum - but where oh where is the marzipan?

I have their advent / new year calendar. Chocolate/marzipan daily from Dec 1-Jan 1 😁

Goodness I could eat it by the block (if it wouldn’t send me into a sugary spiral!) delicious stuff.

Home made really is much nicer. Once tried you won’t want the shop stuff again.

Lidl Stollen Bites! These are THE BEST aren’t they! Sugary, marzipanny, fruity goodness.

you can just ice the cake without it @IsThisTheWaytoSlamMyPillow s DH, I do that for one of the cakes I make because they just pick it off anyway if its on there. but yes seems less available this year, our tescos had none and sainsburys only had the white stuff left, which is handily what I wanted, but unusual to see/.

The shelves were full in Aldi on Thursday.

Also I saw marzipan fruits in Sainsburys (or possibly M&S?) the other day. Hadn't seen them for sale for years.

I've just thrown out the empty stollen mini bites box after allowing myself one or two a day. So tempted to buy another box but I'm also on my second box of mini mine pies. What a great idea to do the minis!
