Desperately trying to think of a gift for MIL, she’s fit and well, living alone in her own home but doesn’t wear slippers, need a heated throw etc, we’re at a loss so all ideas welcome. Thank you

My mum is 90 and loves reading. A good set of thrillers is her favourite gift. She uses the library but finds it handy to have some books ready for days when the library is shut .

I asked my DGM what she wanted this Christmas she's 90. She wanted a new petticoat, half 27" lacy bottom, elastic waist and bed socks. Ask. She may want something.

My grandparents are both 95, I sent them a calendar with photos of their great grandkids (our tradition, has been well received last few years), chocolate & soap.

In Australia here. My DF has a jam sandwich for his lunch every day. So, last year I bought six jars of home made jam. He loved it. So that’s him sorted every year.

If you are in Perth, it can be tricky to find jam at markets these days so I stocked up last year at Whiteman Park. Midland Markets might have something, too. I bought from there in July.

My 94 year old aunt has dementia and gets very overwhelmed by too many gifts. I've got her a calendar (which keeps her orientated and helps the carers) and some marmalade

My mum is 90. She loves a new blouse or jumper from Seasalt, easy-on socks in fun patterns, stylus for her iPad, local honey, smart but comfy footwear, anything for the garden or an indoor plant.

My nan is the same age and living alone, I asked her what she wanted, she wanted an address
book (she added, because a lot of the people in hers have died 😢) I found a large print one on Amazon. I’ve also bought her a small retro Xmas tin of biscuits and a bird feeder.
