Token 'high end' gift around £10

I need help again please! I need a gift for a friend's new girlfriend. Only met twice so far, but she's coming to the boxing day shindig so I need a token.

I know very little about her. She's vegetarian, 35ish, and (random) uses Aesop hand wash in her downstairs loo. So I know she appreciates the finer things!

I'm not spending Aesop money though, any ideas for something 'fancy' around a tenner please?

A bottle of Chambord? Luxury for £6.50

thatsterriblemuriel · 15/12/2025 23:10

Small bottle of Baileys? ‘Nice’ box of chocolates? Decent bottle of wine?

RosesAndHellebores · 15/12/2025 23:10

Good quality chocolate.

socialdilemmawhattodo · 15/12/2025 23:10

Are you cooking for her?

Purplestarballoon · 15/12/2025 23:10

Some locally roasted coffee

24Dogcuddler · 15/12/2025 23:13

Champneys hand cream? Boots have some good offers.

LemonLass · 15/12/2025 23:14

Was in Sainsbury's today. They had the chambord mentioned by another poster, they had Habitat hand creams (for different moods) - boxed with a little key to turn the tube to get every last squeeze out, I imagine?! £4.50

They also had cute (but I am in my 50s so maybe check if suitable for someone in their 30s), Cath Kidston metal tin in shape of house. Had a lip balm and hand cream inside. Think that was a fiver.

HTH and happy shopping
🎄

Ooh, Chambord, forgot about that! Good shout.

We have a buffet on boxing day, so not directly cooking for her.

Or coffee - I need to go to the local coffee house anyway. Hm, don't actually know if she drinks it. They do tea too 🤔

The Neals Yard is also a good suggestion.

You guys are all amazing, I literally couldn't think beyond expensive beauty stuff (think I'm Christmassed out!)

Single bar of Ortigia soap
Small box of nice chocS
Lovely tea (eg Fortnums Smokey earl grey- but you need to know what she likes)

Booja booja truffles

bostonchamps · 16/12/2025 08:07

If it helps: I’m 35, and I have Aesop hand soap. I’m not vegetarian or your friend’s new girlfriend though…

But a bag of indie roasted coffee beans would be a very appreciated gift. Way more appreciated than hand cream.

MalingeringMary · 16/12/2025 23:39

Thanks to you guys, I've decided on some coffee and soap from the local indie shop. Thanks again!
