Stand for artificial Christmas tree please!

I bought a new Christmas tree in the sale at the local garden centre last year. Because DC said our tree was too small and embarrassing HmmGot it out yesterday, and found there's no stand. It's too heavy for the stand for the previous tree, as that was only 5 foot and this ones 7, the stand can't hold it up.

I went back to the garden centre today and they don't sell them separately, won't give me one as I've no proof I got a tree without one from there in January, and all they had was real tree stands which are much too wide for the artificial tree.

Has anyone bought one they can recommend please? The garden centre man told me to buy one from Amazon but you can't tell how sturdy they are on there and I don't want to get one like we've got which won't hold the tree up. DC are disappointed as we'd planned to decorate the tree yesterday so I'd like to get one asap, can anyone advise please?

Can you contact the manufacturer and see if they can sell you one?

Like an idiot I didn't keep the box AngryI put it in the big Christmas tree bag with all the baubles, demoted the old tree to a bin bag to take to a jumble sale (still haven't), felt all organised and smug, and now here we are.

We put ours in a plant pot. DH drilled a hole through a breeze block and put this in the big plant pot and we cover it with sand. Tree "trunk" goes in the drilled hole. Works fantastic. We get it out every year. Been going for about 18 years now - our tree is 7 feet too.

Breeze block with a hole is an excellent idea but sadly I think creating that is beyond my skill. So annoyed with myself for not thinking of a stand when I bought it Angry
