I need to get my mum a add on gift, around £20- £30.Ive already got her a voucher. Shes in her 60s, doesn't like puzzles, gardening, bird baths or anything like that! Any clothes nice get her I never see her wearing again. I'm stuck, any ideas?

Something for her home e.g. a nice reed diffuser?

Does she have favourite chocolate/biscuits/a drink she likes that you could buy?

Nice hand cream?

A bouquet of flowers
A plant
A picture frame with a picture of you in it
A throw
No 7 gift set (my favourite)
A scarf
Are there GC? If so, a mug with their picture on it or a calendar with their photos on every month.
A good quality make up bag.
A book.
Colouring book and coloured pencils
hand wash and body lotion set

NB. She obviously doesn’t like your taste in clothes.

Puzzles and birdbaths? Heavens!

I’m in my 60s …

A smidgen above your budget I’d love a

Gucci lipstick

if the giver has a decent idea of my colour preferences. Preferably one of those in a rosebud casing.

Or … Something cute from Zara, like this:

skullcap

Or … anything from my long wish list of books. This might be particularly apposite:

Rosalyn Drexler - To Smithereens.

I Would Not Want Anything That Might Be Described Primarily As ‘Nice’.

Shes a young 60 so I was trying to steer away from some of the ideas I see on here!
A gucci lipstick is a good shout but I've no idea of colour

If it doesn’t need to be a surprise you could both have fun with the virtual try on facility. Or, if you’re the same colouring you could try it by yourself and make a choice.

Alternatively - even if one prefers alcohol, an interesting non-alcohol option might be welcome over Christmas:

I’ve bought my mum a cream zipped up teddy fleece from H&M (the same one I have!). It was £20. Earrings or perfume is always a great hit!

I understand! My mum is 80 next month but if I said that people would make all kinds of assumptions about her when in fact she loves current fashion, trying new food (trying new anything really - I had to talk her out of sky diving for her birthday 🙄), jewellery, going to the gym…
