If you are in your early-mid twenties, where do you buy from? What do you like? Makeup, clothing, stuff!

I have 3 daughters in their early twenties and have no idea where is cool for them and what they like. Last year a young woman was on one of these threads and she posted some (a lot!) ideas of shops/retailers that she liked. And everything I bought that she recommended went down really well. So I'm asking you if you're in your early twenties where do you buy clothing from? What else do you like? What's trendy (because I'm clearly not, using that term) for you and your friends?

I'm not necessarily looking for innovative ideas, just places I haven't bought from that my daughters will like. Or make up brands that I've not heard of (most of them!).

And also your boyfriends (as I have a 26 year old son too!).

Thank you!

Mine like Urban Outfitters. They can’t afford to shop there particularly though! Also Hollister. H&M for basic stuff.

It was the Posh Adult Stocking Filler thread last year and @Chestnut134 (sorry to tag you if you're still here) who posted some really good ideas for Gen z women. I hadn't heard of Tom's Trunks for example but that went down SO well with my eldest. And all the make up tips.

I’m here! I have lots of ideas.

Gen Z women:
makeup/skincare:

  • Korean skincare is massive at the moment: torriden is a lovely brand and they do a “glass skin discovery set”.
  • sol de janeiro “62” body spray and bum bum cream. There’s little travel sets which are nice.
  • Summer Fridays lip balm (£23)
  • leneige lip masks (vanilla is popular - £20ish)
  • kayali perfume (again, 28 vanilla very popular - around £100 mark)
  • tree hut body body scrub (£15 from boots)
  • sundae shower foam (about a tenner from boots)
  • personalised Dior lip oil (£40ish from selfridges - get the 01 or 00 colour)
  • byoma skincare is affordable and popular - their cleansing balm is very nice, you can get gift sets in boots
  • also in boots: bubble skincare gift sets
  • one size setting spray for girls into makeup, it’s amazing - it’s £30 for a big bottle
  • refy mascara and/or brow gel (unsure on price but think the mascara alone is about £20)

clothes:

  • sisters and seekers hoodies (£60ish) - go with grey to be safe but the butter yellow ones are very popular atm
  • Nike crew socks (£15 for three on asos I think - they wear these over leggings)
  • Toms Trunks - get the white and blue striped trousers (about £40 I think)
  • lululemon define jacket (£115) black is best
  • activewear leggings from Uniqlo - plain black always works (£25???)

accessories:

  • stanley cup or Owala water bottle (£30-£40)
  • Lululemon belt bag or wristlet with the two little coin purses on (£24 in the sale atm)

I’ll think of more and post later

Oh my god @Chestnut134 thank you! And my daughter was asking for vanilla perfume so you've already helped me!

I need you as my personal shopping adviser!

Also:

  • flat claw clips (like these: https://amzn.eu/d/irNGNCx) if she does Pilates or yoga paired with some jellylegz grip socks
  • normal claw clips, bobbles or heatless curlers by kitsch
  • wet brush (it’s a brand) or Kent/denman boar bristle brush
  • Real techniques makeup brushes
  • ”lay flat” makeup bag (it’s a brand) especially if she travels or does her makeup cross legged on the floor)
  • bath and bodywork’s shower gel/lotion and matching candle would be good - sugar cookie (I think it’s called) is popular
  • abbot Lyon for necklaces and bracelets

pyjama/cosy options:

  • Chelsea peers pyjamas (asos have sales on these all the time)
  • brandy melville boxers (she would need to be a skinny mini though as they’re only in one small size)
  • skims pyjamas (extortionate but if you’re on a higher budget they’re worth it)
  • hollister pj bottoms (£25??)
  • Crocs slippers £40ish (could work for young men as well)

gym girl things:

  • bala bangles (good for Pilates girls or if she likes to do walks for fitness)
  • adanola tote bag - maybe a puffy one as they’re really in atm
  • Get a box of her favourite protein bars - the Oreo grenade ones are a favourite

stocking fillers for under £15

  • skinny dip body cream or hand cream
  • Daise brand anti-perspirant, body spray and body scrub

For the boys:

  • Abercrombie fragrance suite discovery set (£25)
  • a Stanley cup but in the style “iceflow flip straw” in black, navy or dark green (£38)
  • JBL GO 4 speaker (£30 Argos)
  • Salt & stone body wash or discovery set - prices vary on product but nice options for men.
  • If he’s into the gym I think the Gymshark hold-alls are really nice (around the £50 mark) Depending on budget; that and the Stanley could be a really nice gift all in.
  • A really good charging bank - everything able to charge , Apple Watch, phone, AirPods etc
  • Philips Hue bulbs/LED strip (the colour change ones) with the bridge
  • Board games: bananagrams, The Traitors board game, the logo game, 5 second rule, dobble/uno show no mercy,

That kayali 28 one is lovely, the other one that is absolutely stunning is called Bianco Latte. You can only get it online but you would be able to order the 5mg sample and then the real thing if you like it in time for Xmas.

FunnyOrca · 06/12/2025 19:34

@WeAllHaveWings this might be a good answer to your thread too?

justwaitingformyturn · 06/12/2025 19:53

I got mine
Dior makeup
Tatcha skincare
Kiels skincare
Fenty bits
Hourglass concealer
Real technics makeup brushes
jammies
slippers
trainers
Zara clothes
perfumes
etc…

Looking for nieces, one late teens other early 20s, both very affluent international set with plenty of money so nightmare to buy for.

Is Sephora a popular brand for this age group? They have some nice sets

Sephora own brand is a no - but stuff from Sephora is a yes. What’s your budget? Would the personalised dior lip oil work?

This is a really nice set - it’s a very fashionable brand and the packaging is gorgeous for a nice gift

Or this from the same brand. The lip oil included in this is one of the best on the market and even if they have it it’s the kind of thing you could use more of and pop in your bag etc

Thank-you! I hadn’t realised Sephora sold different brands. Budget £30-50 each ideally £40 but depends how desperate I get

The Dior lip oil looks interesting I’d never come across lip oil

Olaplex hair mask
Davines shine spray
Glossier perfume
Ugg slippers

moose62 · 07/12/2025 09:19

My daughter has asked for lululemon water bottle, Victoria Beckam glitter khol eyeliner, Monica Vinader earrings and a rather expensive mini dress from Self-Portrait!

HelenHywater · 07/12/2025 09:27

I'd love a dress from Self Portrait! I didn't realise it was a Gen Z brand.

I like those sisters and seekers hoodies @Chestnut134 - are they better than Adanola ones?

And so much on there is on their lists -Korean skin care for example - where I didn't know where to start. So thank you for all of this. I'm going to work my way through your recommendations.

I think Olaplex is a good one too @OldPosterNewName2025 - one of the dds has asked for a hair mask.

Adanola go a bit crispy in the wash. S&S hoodies stay nice and soft

fairyworms · 08/12/2025 01:19

glossier lipbalm, hollister pj bottoms, owala water bottle (all things i’ve bought this year and love more than i expected)
