I’m making one for my auntie and my sister for Christmas and I’d like ideas for what to add.

The idea is to give them each a box of items which will come in useful for keeping them warm and cosy during the winter months.
Think cosy and warm.

So far I’ve added:
PJs
Fluffy socks
Popcorn
Luxury Chocolates
Tea/coffee
Hot chocolate sticks
Hand Cream
Lip balm
Hand warmers
Ginger shots

any other ideas?

A hot water bottle? They come in so many different shapes and sizes now there’s bound to be one you can fit in a hamper. It’s a lovely idea- I’d love to receive this!

Bookaholic73 · 04/12/2025 21:47

Fab idea, thank you @halfpasteleven ill add those.

Something to pass the time like a jigsaw, colouring book, books?

Bookaholic73 · 04/12/2025 21:50

My auntie loves jigsaws, great idea. I’m not a huge jigsaw fan, so if anyone knows of some decent brands, that would be great. Thanks @cadburygorilla

Often have jigsaws on offer at The Works/ on their website.
Great idea for a present.
Tub of savoury snacks Christmas themed.

Bookaholic73 · 04/12/2025 21:59

Thanks, I’ll pop into The Works tomorrow when I’m in town.
Savou snacks are a good idea, thank you @24Dogcuddler

Such a lovely idea!

How about a little craft project? You can get some nice embroidery / crochet / handsewing kits in B&M, The Range, Home Bargains, The Works etc or Etsy if you want something from an independent seller.

The Wordle puzzle books are addictive if they like puzzle books!

Bookaholic73 · 04/12/2025 22:05

I love the idea of the craft project for my sister, thank you @OhBobbins but not for my Auntie as she has quite bad arthritis in her hands.
Puzzle books are a wonderful addition!

Hand warmers that go inside gloves?? A lot are warmable in the microwave X gadgets for opening jars etc? For your aunt

Woahbodyforrrrm · 05/12/2025 00:25

I love jigsaw puzzles and as much as you can get bargains from some of the cheaper shops on the high street, I would definitely advise you to go for a good quality brand. Often the puzzle pieces on the cheap ones are all the same shape so they all fit into each other which can be seriously frustrating. You can’t go wrong with Gibsons and Ravensburger!

Im making a similar 'hamper' of cosy thing for my mum. Its got White Company cashmere socks in it, a heartwarming book she'll love, White Company perfume and bubble bath, cashmere vest from M&S, slippers, calming teas from Ringtons, and her favourite snacks from there (delicious biscuits, fruit cake chocolates etc), special apple juice, stem gingers in chocolate, a jigsaw.. I think that's it!

I love to receive things like this, where the giver has put so much thought into what I'd personally like. A real luxury finding all the lovely goodies. I think your family will be really happy with your thoughtful gift 😊

Ooh thanks for that idea! My mum loves honey. I'll search for a nice jar to add to my box of goodies

HouseWithASeaView · 05/12/2025 03:12

A packet of Soothers and some Lemsip

Bookaholic73 · 05/12/2025 08:51

@OldPosterNewName2025 ah yes, and maybe a mini whisky so they can make hot toddy’s! Thank you for the idea.

@shellyleppard my aunt already has all the gadgets for opening things, but microwaveable warmers are a great idea. Thanks.

I agree! I think it’s all these little things that can make winter more bearable. Especially knowing that someone has thought of you and put together items you personally will enjoy, not just a generic hamper that you can buy online.

I love this book! My auntie already has it though, as she has leant it to me before. But thanks for the idea.
