Mini projector for iPhone. For student room

I was thinking of getting my DS a mini projector for his room at uni so he can watch films on his wall rather than his phone.
i don’t know if that’s practical though! I assume you need a clear wall to project to.
pretty sure his wlll all be covered by posters now.
has anyone got one for their YP bedroom. Was it any good? I assume they’d all connect up to an iPhone. I got a bit confused on Amazon when they were talking about android 11

thanks for any thoughts

I’m after the same thing for my DD so will be interested to hear any suggestions.
I also found the ones on Amazon confusing as they seemed to require streaming apps to be downloaded onto the projector. I just want one that streams from her iPhone or iPad.

Oh I hadn’t even realised that!

maybe I should repost in shopping?

A lot of streaming apps don’t allow the image to be viewed via another device (to prevent piracy) so look to one that has (or can have installed ) the apps they use (e.g. Netflix, Prime, etc). Don’t assume that if they can watch it in their phone that it can be streamed through a projector.

iPhone is more secure than android, hence why more Android phones can have those protections bypassed.

However, it’s a great idea. We have the Nebula one that’s about the size of a coke can and it’s great (though for camping holidays not student digs!)

Thanks @trashcansinatra that makes sense. Do you have a link to the one you have?
