We are having a secret Santa at work. I have no idea what the person I have to buy for likes.
we work in a school and are all business support / first ciders etc,
the lady is around fifty (I don’t know) for sure.
The limit is £10.00. I thought a mug or something . Any ideas please .

So many examples here of why Secret Santa is a terrible idea. I can't imagine any time, ever, when I'd use a handbag mirror (or when I'd have it with me if I needed it). Ive managed to get to 55 without ever "needing" one.

Eyelash in your eye or grit ?

Just because you never think you'd need one doesn't mean no-one ever would .

When we do our secret Santa we have to buy something rude/funny. It’s hilarious.
In the past though, we all wrote a list of likes/dislikes/can’t haves, there’s no point in buying someone a bath bomb if they only have a shower. If you have a food allergy, e.g nuts (don’t buy ferrero rocher). I put no candles on mine as they trigger my migraines. Everyone found it very helpful.

We have wish lists that can be added to our secret Santa. Because I don’t really want chocolate or alcohol I’ve included a bobbin winder or a hot glue gun on mine. Not everyone’s cup of tea but they’re on my wish list.

Obviously there are times when you might need a mirror, but I can't imagine any time when I'd be carrying one just in case.

My point was trying to by "nice" presents for someone you barely know is ridiculous. Im sure some people woukd love a compact mirror, but not every woman will just because shes in her 50s.

Exactly. Hence the Christmas toothbrushes! At least they can be used.
