Christmas alone

Who else is spending Christmas alone? And what will you do?

I just wanted to say, there's already a thread about this so you might like to post on there

This might be me when my mum goes. There have been years I thought that would be better. But the elderly parent thing is complicated. You kind of never know what you're gonna get until you arrive there!

I’m alone Christmas Day this year. Divorced 3 years and have a 50:50 custody share so will have my children (10 & 5) back on Boxing Day, where I plan on treating it as our Christmas Day.

im dreading it to be frank, I’ve never been alone Christmas Day before, I love Christmas. I’m no contact with my parents, and my BF isn’t available Christmas Day, so my plan is a lie in, a long shower, breakfast, long walk with the dog, light meal, Christmas movie and early to bed to sleep away the loneliness.

I’ve only had one Christmas alone (boyfriend flew home Christmas Eve and I had no way of getting to my parents and siblings afterwards).
It was lovely!
I had a lazy morning in bed, watched a shed load of crap TV that neither BF or parents would have appreciated and got a bit drunk whilst eating only Christmas food I like. I remember getting a bit teary about how Christmasy I felt left alone to enjoy it.

I do over stress about Christmas so it was a shock how light I felt without it.

If you are doing Christmas on 26th, I would factor in some cooking time (maybe with a glass of something) so able to spend more time with people on ‘the day’
