to my delighted surprise my DD, DSIL & DGC are coming to me for Christmas. Possibly staying around 10 days. They live and work abroad, both in v demanding jobs. DGC has recently started started school over there.
I’ve got as far as ordering a bird (organic capon) from local organic butcher and booking 4 tickets for (younger age-group) show at theatre on Boxing Day. I have a Christmas pudding from last year and also a few (around 10) crackers.
I’m happy for DD & DSIL to fill their diaries with dates with other friends, so that maybe they’ll be out for a number of days while they’re staying with me.
My question is much more basic: WHAT needs to be on my shopping list?
Please can MNers help me with shopping list ideas which include a) DO NOT FORGET this and b You May Like to Think About This.
Grateful.

Maybe find out if they eat breakfast and if so what they like so there’s always something to start the day.

A variety of lunch stuff in case they are there for lunch more than you expect. Soup, anything you can freeze/keep if it doesn’t get used.

Anything specific the little one likes.

Extra toilet rolls!!

Is this the kind of thing you mean? I’m sure there’s more!
