Please help me as I haven’t got a clue what I’m buying? Do I need digital? Disc drive? He likes the football game! I haven’t got a clue 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Get the disc one. You can still buy digital games as well but with the disc one you can always get games secondhand / people can gift games for Xmas/bdays etc.

I have five boys and they have confirmed disks!

stomachamelon · 22/11/2025 19:24

They said curry’s or Smyths.

Nightlight8 · 22/11/2025 19:29

Currys usually have the best bundles OP.

We just got DSS (11) a PS5 for Christmas - disc edition for resale - a game, one extra controller, and a year long subscription to the PS Plus thing which had a catalogue of about 400 games they can play. After asking around, that seemed the best idea so they can decide what kind of games they like while their inventory is low.

Disc version is quite a bit more expensive than digital, so you'll need to base the decision on how many games he's likely to play. Mine tends to play the same 5 or 6 so digital is fine.

Thank you all so much for your help I really appreciate it

We have the digital. DS is only interested in FIFA and Minecraft, and DP has a few games on it. And no risk of scratched discs with DD2 running around.

Yes it is. But then you're tied to paying full price and never actually owning the game. Even if you get it in a sale later on. That takes patience.

With a disk you own the game, you're not tied to one console and can trade it in and buy them pre owned

Always, always get a disk drive for as long as they make them.

Definitely disk version
