Mini thermal printer recommendations

I'm going round in circles trying to decide which mini thermal printer to buy. There are various options on Amazon, as well as Thermanote and Thermonote on other websites, all in the £15-20 mark, including some cute ones shaped like rabbits. I'm not expecting fantastic quality printing from any, but does anyone have one and can comment on longevity / quality? Some have a fair few reviews saying they stopped working after a month etc.

Also, can you use any brand of thermal printing paper in them?

DD received a thermanote last year for Christmas and it’s still working fine. I think I bought it directly from the company, rather than Amazon

Do the pictures smudge or would dd be able to colour them in? She's desperate for a printer for colouring pages but we don't have the space (or need) for a large printer.

They don’t smudge, and you could definitely colour them in, but they are quite small, so not like having colouring sheets.

DD said that if you do get one the first time you use it it takes a few goes to work, but after that works clearly every time
