What are you wearing?

Yes, it’s probably too early to think about what you are going to wear Grin

Usually I just wear normal clothes but I’m going to put some effort in this year.

Have you decided what you are going to wear yet? Is it worth getting dressed up?

Would love to hear what you have planned.

I'm planning on wearing some black sequin trousers and a top I bought online a while ago. It's black, long enough to cover my butt but a bit synched in at the waste. I thought it had silver sequins radomly on it but when it turned up, they were silver dots but I liked it anyway and kept it. I will be wearing silver earings bracelet and necklace to match, but I have some goofy gingerbread people false nails to wear for a bit of fun. How about you?

Christmas is very casual in our house. So it'll be joggers and Christmas jumpers all round - need an elasticated waist for all that food 😋

MYOB12 · 18/11/2025 06:10

I’m doing park run so it’ll be gym kit for the start of the day. Grin Then we’ll dress up as we’ll go to the pub for a couple of drinks while the turkey is in the oven. Not actually decided what I’m wearing yet but my fav Christmas item of clothing so far this year is a pair of velvet shorts. So it may be those! We’ve got family over for food so will stay dressed up for that then probably change into pj’s late afternoon.

I'm wearing a sequin midi dress. Ive lost a lot of weight & feel great so I want to look dressy for a change. I cook for 12 on Christmas day so will change into this just before our guests arrive.

Do you mean on Christmas Day, or throughout the season?

For me it will vary from dog walking garb, to something sparkly when visiting/going out to eat (depends on what the weather is like and how warm it feels, could be anything from a sparkly jumper and jeans, to more full on sequin top and fancy skirt), back to dog walking garb and then PJs.

I will be wearing a few Christmas jumpers and sparkly tops throughout the Christmas period.

alecks · 18/11/2025 07:40

I don’t wear clothes in the house so it will be comfy PJs for me.

I usually see Xmas as a rare opportunity to dress up - in fact I have a red sequined flapper type dress I saw in a charity shop and had to have it, even though God knows when I will wear it, and I had been thinking Xmas was a possibility.

But now I am spending lunch itself with just DD and my DExH (will be seeing my elderly parents later) and the dress is a bit low cut,, so worried it would give the wrong impression. (DExH has a partner, and I don't want her seeing any Xmas pics and running away with the idea that I was vamping up in an effort to "steal" him back! As that is 100% not the case).;

I do have a red crushed velvet long sleeved tunic type dress, which is more modest - to give you an idea, I have worn it for the theatre before, and for first dates in a pub, etc. That might be a better idea.

Though I would love love love to wear the flapper dress, because, if not Christmas, when?

Northcoastmama · 18/11/2025 07:54

I’ve bought an absolute gorgeous velvety Nadine Merabi dress, just hoping it fits!

itsgettingweird · 18/11/2025 08:08

Leggings and my Xmas jumper 🤣

We will eat so want to be comfy and walk afterwards so will want to be dressed for that too.

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 18/11/2025 08:16

I've just bagged a next christmas jumper dress on vinted for £3 so that and some leggings. Suitably stretchy and warm. We dont leave the house for 2 days though 😂

MaplePumpkin · 18/11/2025 09:17

Oo not too early to think about at all!

Ive got a dark green velvet dress to wear with tights (and probably fluffy socks!) for Christmas dinner/games at home, and for popping in on tne in laws. Then Christmas jumpers and pajama bottoms for the evening at home where we snuggle up and watch Christmas tv it’s a box of quality street!

HansHolbein · 18/11/2025 22:23

So lovely to read all these!

We’re very casual in the Pies household. DH will be wearing shorts and a t shirt because that’s what he always wears, and I’ll be in some kind of leggings/joggers/pyjama bottoms with a t shirt combo. We have guests, but it’s close family who’ll be quite happy with comfort over style. DB will also be in shorts and a T shirt and DSiL is usually in jeans and a jumper.

I think I’m going to treat myself to this after over a year of feeling gross and pregnant/ttc I finally want to wear something nice! I’ll also wear it for the pre-Christmas events.

What a beautiful dress, I always found them to be good quality too.

GoodBones85 · 19/11/2025 15:29

@HansHolbein love the username ❤️

Another vote for leggings and Christmas jumper here as we will only leave the house to do a festive dog walk 😂

*edited as now wondering if the dog needs a Christmas jumper……… 🤔
