Secret Santa help

We drew names for our work secret santa yesterday, and I've ended up with the person I was hoping not to get, so I'd appreciate any help!

There is a £10 limit, and I'm buying for the one person in the team I really don't know. She's a 20yo student on a placement with our healthcare team, seems quiet and nice, still lives with her parents, no pets.

I'd love to get her something nice, and I'd be grateful for ideas!

Starbucks voucher

LadyGreyandlemoncurd · 14/11/2025 11:23

I agree with @mrssunshinexxx a Starbucks/Costa voucher is a good idea (maybe with a Lindt chocolate reindeer so she has a physical gift to unwrap).

The other option would be an Owala water bottle (they’re slightly over budget but there will probably be a Black Friday discount). They’re really pretty and very useful.

Waterstones voucher. A lot of Gen Z won’t touch Starbucks and prefer independent cafes.

Do you know if she likes to read? Go to a good charity shop and pick out some lovely paperback books in good condition and wrap up beautifully. Recycling and a great gift, some reading material for Christmas.

Nice stationery. I am buying my friend some glitter highlighters and got her a lovely notebook. She’s a lawyer so always needs pens and notebooks.

a card wallet with RFID blocking.

fancy warm socks

chocolate coins

Our work does a wish list and a little bit of a place to add what they really don’t want. My Muslim colleague for example has put in age doesnt want alcohol or sweets with gelatine.

Lostuser · 14/11/2025 11:32

A diary or Notebook and as a PP mentioned Lindt chocolate

AnneButNotHathaway · 14/11/2025 11:32

Voucher for a coffee shop she's frequent at, not necessarily Starbucks
Adult coloring book or calendar
Cute thermal mug or a water bottle
Posh chocolates or biscuits
A note+pen gift set, though it depends on whether you know for sure if she uses those things, because some people actively do while others absolutely don't

I got my secret santa one of these relevant to her job...

They are available in all sorts of styles representing all sorts of jobs and hobbies, including a number of healthcare worker ones.

You could get some gingerbread biscuits or gingerbread candle to top up to £10

Stompythedinosaur · 15/11/2025 01:18

Thank you for all the ideas! I was drawing a blank so this has been really helpful!

A nice candle?

HelloGreen · 15/11/2025 20:02

Cinema voucher and a bag of fancy popcorn.

londongirl12 · 15/11/2025 20:13

Please don’t get a coffee shop voucher. Just seems a bit of a cop out. I’d go for a nice notebook.

lemonraspberry · 15/11/2025 20:22

Expensive but really nice soap.
hand cream
nice biscuits

Linenpickle · 15/11/2025 20:23
