Gingerbread house

Very specific question, but has anyone ever used the Sainsbury’s gingerbread dough 350g to make an average sized gingerbread house, and can advise how many packs to use? Or how much dough in grams roughly to make one house (recipes online just have the measurements of individual ingredients).

I’m not much of a baker and would love to skip the step of actually making the dough, plus the kids will mostly enjoy the rolling, cutting, building and decorating anyway.

It would be a disaster to fall short on the day though, nor do I want to have lots of excess!

Thank you 😊

Looking at the BBC Good Food Gingerbread House recipe the ingredients for the body of the house weigh around 1.2kg give or take a few teaspoons of spices. You could follow their instructions for the build. 4 packs of the Sainsbury’s dough would give you 1.4kg so you’d have a little bit in hand. The dough gets really good reviews….I hadn’t seen it before. Thanks for that.

Have a great time with it!

Thank you for this, I hadn’t thought of working it out like that! If there’s a little leftover we can make some biscuits. Will give it a go in a few weeks and report back 😅@MamaBobo
