Tablet for 9 year old

We're after a tablet for my 9 year old for Christmas and I'm not sure where to start, although I'm thinking of trying to get something over Black Friday.

It's mainly for playing Roblox at the moment, although maybe that'll change as he gets older. We currently have an Amazon Fire Kids, which is old and slow and clunky.

What am I looking for in terms of size/RAM etc? Recommendations would be good, but I'd also really appreciate some advice on how to choose or get a good deal.

We don't spend a lot on Christmas usually but we might have to up the budget this year. I can see some online for £150ish, would they be good enough?

And any accessories for his stocking?

We really struggled to get one to play Roblox without glitching in that price range. We ended up buying an iPad instead. There are lots of videos on YouTube so try googling the models you’re considering and looking for Roblox reviews. Alternatively try Curry’s or somewhere you can physically try one out.

The normal amazon fire tablet - cheaper than the kid's version and DD uses it to play Roblox. Get a decent case for it and it'll be protected in case it is dropped etc.

We've had the same issue with the kids amazon fire, it's very slow for Roblox. We've bought both Dc the Samsung tablet s10 lite for Christmas. They're on offer at the moment, hopefully they will be abit better for them.
