Electronic notebook

My child has mentioned an electronic notebook with pen and I’d like to look at this as a possible gift idea. It’s something they want to use to take notes on. I have never heard of those so don’t know where to even start, does anyone have recommendations or things to look for please

My friend had one (she lost it and was really bummed!) she used hers for work though, it would work great for a student too. What does she want it for if not for notes?
