Are they good? Or any others for winter frangrances.
Thank you

I picked up some orange and cinnamon ones in a nearby national trust gift shop - really nice (and reduced....)

LemonVerbenaGeranium · 19/10/2025 16:38

Yes, really nice. TK Maxx often have some in, especially around Christmas.

FastingHell · 19/10/2025 16:43

Can you simmer a pot with citrus, cinnamon and cloves? Makes the whole house smell nice, without chemicals.

GingerbreadGirls · 19/10/2025 16:45

Yes, they are excellent. As are their diffusers. I have Inspiritus and Winter Thyme ready and waiting for next month.

TheChosenTwo · 19/10/2025 16:46

We normally pick one up at the Christmas tree farm, an orange and cinnamon one, something festive smelling anyway. They burn really nicely and the fragrance is not too overpowering but does lightly scent a large room.

Titasaducksarse · 19/10/2025 16:49

Yes, they're lovely.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 19/10/2025 16:50

My favourite is the nettle and bergamot. Nice subtle fragrance. My DD loves the Amber ones but we've not been able to find any of those lately!

Starwomanwaiting · 19/10/2025 16:52

We have the sea salt one and it’s surprisingly strong for such a cheap candle! Nice scent too

MinimumRage · 19/10/2025 16:57

Yes it is a great brand and British made so less travel-impact.

HewasH2O · 19/10/2025 17:01

Made down here in Cornwall. DD picked up Walled Garden & Sweet Pea earlier. I always have Invictus or Orange & Cinnamon at Christmas.

Papyrophile · 19/10/2025 17:02

We love St Eval, especially the Bay and Rosemary. Price to value, they are the best, unless you want to spend the money for Jo Malone or Diptyique.

TheChicDreamer · 19/10/2025 17:06

I’ve just come back from a weekend away where the hotel was littered with St Eval candles and diffusers. Made me want to buy some!

Allthings · 19/10/2025 17:09

I love bay and rosemary or winter thyme.

MissyB1 · 19/10/2025 17:10

Winter Thyme is gorgeous!

SliceofTosst · 19/10/2025 17:19

Yes. I regular buy for my MiL who loves them.Just bought the Winter Thyme ones for her for Christmas.

charliehungerford · 19/10/2025 17:20

Perhaps not for Christmas but Sea Salt is my favourite , fragrance is invigorating and long lasting.

FurForksSake · 19/10/2025 17:23

They really are having a moment. I dislike the winter thyme but the other Christmas ones are lovely. I had a good sniff at the garden centre but didn’t buy any as I’ll just burn them now! I find the tea lights are a good amount of scent for their size. The nettle and bergamot is lovely.

Hanschristiananderson · 19/10/2025 17:25

i'm afraid I don't agree. I bought quite a few last year and was very disappointed with the quality. I have bought them before and they were far better. They just don't smell nearly as good as they used to, some barely had any smell at all.

fairislecable · 19/10/2025 17:26

I use them all the time, my DH loves Inspiritus so much he ordered a box of 12 and uses them in his study.

I love Seasalt all year round but use the Orange and Cinnamon and the Winter Thyme at Christmas.

SeaAndStars · 19/10/2025 18:03

I always take the sea salt one on holidays. That smell is instant holiday for me.

Phunkychicken · 19/10/2025 18:06

if you after nice Christmas type smells have a look at Boucle. They’re made with essential oils and don’t trigger my migraines like the ones with perfume do

SpigTheFish · 19/10/2025 18:07

Yes, theyre gorgeous. I spend a small fortune on them every year!

potato08 · 19/10/2025 18:08

Not great, quite weak and don't burn well

lemonraspberry · 19/10/2025 18:09

For Christmas I find the Dundee Candle Works really good.

I love them, I'm burning Embers atm, I had the advent calendar last year too
