Food subscription ideas

Does anyone have any good food subscription recommendations?

A friend has gone above and beyond for me this year and I'd like to get her a thoughtful and helpful present. She has a chronic illness which is getting worse and she's finding it difficult to stand and cook for longer than 10 minutes. She told me recently that's she worried about her health cos she's putting on weight from eating unhealthy foods.

I was thinking of getting her a food subscription but most look like ingredients that would still require her to stand and cook. Is there such a thing as a nice ready meal subscription service?

Hmm, not sure, most of the fully prepped subscription things I’ve seen are more for treat foods like cookies or brownies.

couple of other suggestions - magazine subscription to one of the healthy living magazines like Sante (top sante?), or BBC Good Food (all the recipes have nutritional data): coffee subscription eg Colombia Coffee Roasters in Oxford; flower subscription from Cornish Blooms (family business, all grown in UK); cheese subscription such as Pong Cheese - depends on your view of healthy, I think cheese is good if low UPF and a source of protein and calcium but some are worried about the fat levels.

Or a Cook voucher or a supply of Cook frozen ready meals, they just need to be either microwaved or bunged in the oven, come in decent portion sizes, have some nice calorie controlled options and the labelling for GF and DF is really clear for anyone with dietary issues. I don’t think they do a subscription as such but it’s easy to order online

they are not cheap but mostly have few ‘nasty” ingredients and are the closest to home made I have come across

Below you’ll find the full menu of our hand-prepared meals for one. Nothing beats a home cooked meal.

Another vote for a COOK voucher. Highly recommend their veggie lasagne (and I'm not even veggie).
