Hi everyone!
Im looking for some present ideas for my DH and suggestions for what I could ask for. Our baby is due very close to Christmas so to be honest the present side of things doesn't really matter to us as well be in a baby bubble and probably quite sleep deprived! But I am looking for some present suggestions that might be useful/cosy for us both that we could useful throughout the year with our newborn. Not baby related but more as a treat for myself and DH
Any ideas?

ask for some nice loungewear for yourself and some hair care stuff - that way you’ll feel nice in loose comfy clothing whilst nursing a new born baby.
Dh will need a dressing gown so he can be cosy during the night and can feel relaxed and snuggled if it’s been a long night during the day - definitely never underestimate how much fresher clean, loose pyjamas and casual wear can make you feel.
maybe stock uP on some extra nice ready meals for convenience and some hot chocolate.
its going to be such a lovely Christmas in your new baby bubble … also, think about buying the baby one special Xmas dec each year.

Cook does meal boxes for new parents - either a week or fortnight's worth, that could be great for filling your freezer.

Some lovely wine or champagne and fancy cheese/pate/shellfish to celebrate the festive season and being able to eat those foods again (a glass of wine is fine even if you are breastfeeding, there's plenty of science articles on it if anyone raises an eyebrow!)

Am audible subscription so you can listen to books whilst feeding baby/doing laundry etc. Or netflix/prime/disney+ membership as you'll likely be having more evenings in for a while

National trust or English heritage membership for nice days out during mat leave.

Luxury coffee/tea/hot chocolate or cafe vouchers

Silk eye mask so you can get daytime naps in when the baby's asleep

I had a baby two days before Christmas, I was definitely in a tinsel filled baby bubble (baby bauble?). I appreciated:

  • pyjamas
  • New slippers
  • New headphones
  • iPad (to keep me entertained for those long night shifts)
  • a meal box from Cook (you can get a newborn bundle)
  • loads of chocolate!
  • New gloves when taking the baby out for a cold pram stroll.

Husband loved a new dressing gown, new slippers, new game for his switch (when he was doing the early shift with a contact napping infant on his chest).

Congratulations!! We had our first baby in the November and I made my partner a hamper, each gift had their own little tag explaining the reason,

  • nice ground coffee to keep him awake after a long night
  • a super Daddy mug to drink said coffee
  • a new jumper incase Baby was sick and he needed to change
  • strawberry laces if he needed a sugar fix
  • Winnie the Pooh box set so he could read to the baby
  • some whisky for the days where he just needed a wee treat

There were other bits but he definitely appreciated it. Xx

Thank you so much everyone! These ideas are great 🙂.
The ideas of cosy and practical gifts for DH are fab and I could use lots of these ideas to create a hamper.
