Hi everyone,

Eldest DS has said he would like the Apple Pencil to use on his iPad . I have priced this up and current cheapest is £69 on Amazon. Does anyone know if they are any good ? He is very creative and loves drawing .

younger DS has the latest Amazon prime tablet. Does anyone know if Amazon do anything similar as I think he would love one also !

Thanks 😊

Make sure you check compatibility. I made a mistake some years ago and had to return the apple pencil that does not work with DD’s ipad.

Thank you @hotchocandtwosmokybacon . I have found one which is compatible 😊

I love my apple pen and use it all the time for drawing, I would highly recommend it if he’s keen to draw on his iPad.

Recommend the Procreate app and looking up a few tutorials on YouTube, it’s about £10 but very fun! I draw pictures in black pen for DS then add another layer for him to colour them in. And we’ve followed tutorials together on YouTube.

It depends on his age really. There are some cheaper compatible items which would work best for someone starting out, but if he's a bit older, wanting to do more advanced work and less likely to treat the pencil roughly (e.g. scribbling, scrubbing) then an extent you get what you pay for. A low quality item with a shite lag time is frustrating as you have to go back and erase/correct a lot but on the other hand seeing your child using the kit like a Crayola is annoying!
