Christmas abroad

Hello! We’re doing our first Christmas abroad this year! One non believer (13) and one believer (10). It’s an AI hotel so food etc sorted. It’ll be hot! Please can you give me your tips for making Xmas day special when away from home? I’m beginning to panic as it feels so different to what I know!

If you’re going hot then I wouldn’t focus as much on making it like a normal traditional cosy Christmas because it just won’t land the same and instead focus on new things there that might be different and exciting.

So could your 10 year old look for stars and try to see the sleigh etc the night before - or is there a local market you can visit and you can shop for your own stocking fillers for each other like a treasure hunt. The hotel may have things on for the day too you can join in with. Could you do a Christmas Day swim in the sea (not sure where you’re going) or does your hotel have things like fire pits you could still take marshmallows to roast?
