Where do you keep your presents

Until they go under the tree or for other people? We don’t have a spare room, can’t go on the loft, no room in the garage and no storage. What do people do in this situation?

Top of my wardrobe and under the bed.

Under stairs cupboard.

In many places as the house is full of storage. It helps that my child is a teen so I don’t have to make sure there’s no sign of presents, I can just say those are for Christmas

IMissSparkling · 27/07/2025 17:19

The shops store them for me until November time.

TeddyBeans · 27/07/2025 17:23

In my parents' loft 😁

I’d clear out your garage/loft?!

if that’s not an option I’d look st
-under the bed
-top of wardrobe
-patio storage box
-airing cupboard
-back of a drawer

In our room in black bags. Literally in plain sight. Over the years the kids have asked what’s in the bags but we just say loads of presents for Nan, aunty blah blah, uncle blah blah , cousin blah blah. They have never asked to look in the bags as they have no interest in any one else’s presents other than their own lol. We’ve done this for years and they have never looked.

I bought a big garden storage tub that has a lock and is in the garage.

Scattered around, in draws, wardrobes, under the bed, in suitcases ( this is our first hiding place), they are hidden in black bags, Amazon boxs, anything the DDs wouldn’t think of looking in. For years we’ve hidden things in plain sight, I could leave a box in the hallway full of gifts and DDs would just assume it’s a delivery, I once left a foosball table in the porch for a month and just told the DDs it was a delivery for the neighbours, we do take a lot of big packages in for them so not unusual to see packages around.

You just need to remember where you’ve hidden things, every year without fail I miss something I’ve hidden, even after keeping a note of everything.

Until last year I just used the spare bed but last year our LO came home and suddenly the spare room was no longer an option - so when the decorations came down I shifted a box of stuff (summer clothes I think) from the top of my wardrobe and replaced it with a box that I used for presents. I also hid some in the boot of my car and in my in-laws spare room.

In suitcases in the loft

They go in an ottoman on the landing until it gets full and then they go on top of the wardrobes 🙈😂 Ds will be 4 this year and he has never seemed to notice the ones on top of the wardrobes before but this year he has noticed some of his birthday presents have been put up there so I may have to rethink it 🙈😂

In the wardrobe. We don't have a big family and tend to go for smallish items as gifts, so it works pretty well. I do Christmas hampers full of interesting and delicious things for DH and my parents, those are in plain sight in cardboard boxes on top of a chest of drawers, with instructions not to look inside!

DH usually stashes gifts in his clothes drawers, hidden under jumpers etc.
