Adult stocking fillers 2025! Starting with this year's hits

I was amazed at the traffic on this thread, so thought I'd ask for your biggest ADULT stocking. filler hits this year.

I'll start us off:
Olive spoons and pickle forks were suggested on the previous thread. Each half if the couples got a spoon or a fork, wrapped with a jar of olives or pickles. All brought out and used with last night's cheeseboard, wasn't the intention but anyway they seemed to be well received.

While walking around the garden centre yesterday I decided I would make my mother a Christmas stocking this year.

So far got her a quiz in a tin, and a bath teabag.

That’s a great start @Troubledwords! Hopefully you will find some more ideas in this thread or more likely tbe original thread linked to in the OP.
i’ve not bought anything yet but note things down as ideas crop up. DD stopped with us a few days and made a big dent in a jar of very nice jam a recent visitor had brought as a gift. It’s on her list!

I used several ideas from it last year for a different stocking, but decided that there was so many options for a stocking and she doesn't need a big present. Plus I think stockings are more fun!

I recently got a bundle of mini puzzles on Vinted for stockings this year. Also got my husband a bell with ‘bullsh*t’ on it as we have a running joke about his random facts he makes up 🤣

OMGitsnotgood · 15/05/2025 08:51

@SomeFiggyPuddinglove the belt idea, that is exactly my kind of present: humorous, meaningful and practical.
The puzzles sound like a real find and no doubt a lot cheaper than nearer Christmas.

One of our DC is just back from Porto and brought us minature bottles of Port (we don’t really do holiday presents, only if we come across something small that makes sense). I generally just am gathering ideas rather than buying until later in the year but it reminded me that I have bought some stocking fillers on holidays before now - mini local spirits for example or just things you see that will be used and are prettier / cheaper than at home. Or sometimes you just see things you could probably get at home but seize the day!

Talking about noting ideas: we were discussing how little we use cash now. The adult DC were saying on a night out they still do a cash kitty, as they often don’t have enough rounds for everyone to buy one and seems to be the same people who don’t rush to the bar,. I will be on the look out for suitable small zipped ‘kitty’ purses to put in their stockings Possibly something I’ll see on a market on holiday.

Anyone know any good card games or travel sized games for adults. More 2 player type than group games.

Dustmylemonlies · 23/05/2025 19:04

Last year, I got a vacuum stopper for bottles of sparkling wine that stops it going flat. Very useful!

Dustmylemonlies · 23/05/2025 19:06

I like the idea of vintage presents like old Jackie annuals!

MaMisled · 23/05/2025 19:15

I bought all my favourite females hand painted candles and hand knitted cotton face cloths from Etsy. Such a massive hit that I now do this myself!

IWanderedLonely · 23/05/2025 20:30

It depends on the size of your stocking! I've done stockings since my DD1 was born (35 years ago) and they've always been small, pretty well the size of a sock. I aim for 6 to 7 presents. Range from a fancy pack of pocket tissues, pens, travel size toiletries, scratch cards, car air-fresheners, miniature bottles of spirits, pin badges, lip balms etc. Always a Christmas choc and a tangerine.
Obviously not much use if you have the larger type stockings, sorry

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 23/05/2025 22:26

DH said the other day that the best present I have ever given him was ……….. a blade sharpener.

Although not strictly a stocking present, it would fit.

GoodEnoughParents · 23/05/2025 22:31

Maybe positivity cards, a nice wall calendar, fancy satin bobbles
