Feeling down

I feel guilty posting this on Christmas night because I have had a lovely day at home with the husband and kids, and we’ve had a lot of fun. But I feel a bit… flat tonight. Does anyone else feel this way? I don’t know if it’s because there was the build up and now it feels it’s almost over. I’m off work for 11 days so no reason to feel this way really but I suppose it can’t be helped. I hope you all have had a lovely day.

Me! Started yesterday. I've been at daughters all day with Grandson.. had a lovely dinner.. exchanged fabulous gifts.. went for a walk.. but it's like overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time.. l think subconsciously I'm missing my sister. First Christmas without her.. although l didn't spend Christmas with her.. but sad not to receive a card or text.. I've come home to see to cat and watch telly and just cried for an hour..🤷‍♀️😪🤷‍♀️ tomorrow us three are going to my other daughters and 3 teenage Grandsons.. we are the most loving close and caring family...we are all on the spectrum in some way.. but we cope and manage.... we want for nothing really.. first Christmas l can ever remember feeling down.
I'm now going to catch up with the soaps and watch call the midwife.. knowing in my heart this feeling won't last forever..
Wishing you all the best x

I always feel a bit flat around this time on Christmas day.. I think the build up is intense, plus organising and hosting Christmas is pretty exhausting.

I also kind of want everyone to go away by the evening time.. we've had a noisy lunch which was fun, but now I'm tired and would quite like to just lie on the sofa on my own and watch what I want to watch, without other people aroud!

I always feel quite melancholy at Christmas. I love the build up and feel all sparkly in early-mid December but the actual day can leave me feeling a little down. I’ve had the loveliest day today but can’t help missing the people who aren’t with us any more and wondering how many years we have with the dc still wanting to spent the day with us.
You're not alone!
