What time did you eat your Christmas dinner compared to when you wanted to eat your Christmas dinner.

Started at half 2 - gradually trying to get the kids to a 'proper' time of 3.30/4ish and I think next year we'll crack it (not English)

Sunnyside4 · 25/12/2024 15:58

Aimed for 1-1.15pm, sat down about 1.25pm

MaltipooMama · 25/12/2024 16:25

We timed ours to match up with our one year old's lunchtime of 1pm! So we had our starter at 1 and lunch at 1.30. If we didn't have a child we'd have probably eaten around 3pm ish which I'd have much preferred!

AlexisP90 · 25/12/2024 17:01

1pm - wanted to eat around 2.30 but the food was ready and everyone was "starving" so just dished up

ByHeartyCyanMentor · 25/12/2024 17:29

I was aiming for 1:30pm we ate at 1:45pm but still finished in time to watch the King so I was happy.

Bang on time.
daughter is the (very excellent) cook.
I lay on the kitchen settee with the baby. 🥳

socks1107 · 25/12/2024 17:34

Wanted to eat at 2 but we sat down at 3.15. We're all adults so no routine to stick too

dementedpixie · 25/12/2024 17:50

We're having it for dinner. Might have soup starter soon. Turkey is cooking

GreyAreas · 25/12/2024 18:07

20 minutes late, same as last year, just couldn't get the oven hot enough so I gave it a bit longer

muddlingthrou · 25/12/2024 19:40

Starters at 3 and dinner at 5:30. Dinner was a bit later than planned but hey ho!

hailholyqueen · 25/12/2024 19:41

Planned for 1pm. Two year old needed to nap and life passed me by so was about 2.30pm by the time we ate, but no regrets.

BrieAndChilli · 25/12/2024 19:49

Starters at 1 and main at 2pm which is when i had scheduled it for.

Aimed for 2 but ate at 3 because both dogs rolled in something unspeakable and had to be bathed.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 26/12/2024 12:48

My roast potatoes took TWO BLOODY HOURS!!! Put them on at 3.45 aiming for dinner at 5 but was nearly 6 pm by the time they were done.

So annoying. I had two ovens on the go so it just had roast potatoes at the top, a tray of carrots and parsnips and at the bottom pigs in blankets so didn't feel like the oven should have been too rammed full to take that amount of time. 🙈🙈

purplemom03 · 26/12/2024 21:39
