What's for everyones dinner, just had a thought that everyone is eating pretty much the same today as their neighbours are so bizarre how Sundays used to be when we was kids and you could smell everyone's roast up and down your street

I think we were traditional here with turkey but talking to people - not that many like the actual turkey dinner and have beef or something else.

LostGhost · 25/12/2024 18:14

We had a lamb roast, not a huge turkey fan

Bookaholic73 · 25/12/2024 18:15

Roast pork and all the trimmings.

Purplevelvetshoes · 25/12/2024 18:18

I baked two pies - one steak and one chicken and mustard and they went down an absolute treat! I did all the trimmings and large chicken breast for my youngest.

I’ll never do a large roast again.

Beef rib

muddlingthrou · 25/12/2024 19:38

Beef wellington!

bananaboats · 25/12/2024 20:24

We had steaks!

evtheria · 25/12/2024 20:40

Roast beef for us :)

purplecorkheart · 25/12/2024 20:46

Beef as well.A selection of roast veg and roast potatoes. We were busy with friends this morning so wanted something easy and reasonably quick.

Rowgtfc72 · 25/12/2024 20:48

We had pizza.

AhBiscuits · 25/12/2024 20:51

We had turkey and gammon at the inlaws place. I don't mean to be a cow but it was pretty disappointing. The potatoes were not crispy at all, all the veg was just boiled to death and unseasoned, hardly any pigs in blankets - I had one and it was tiny - Aunt Bessie's Yorkshires.
I'm going to do a roast at home on New Year's Day and cook all the things that I wanted today.

sweetydahling · 25/12/2024 20:53

Vegan crown.

purplemom03 · 26/12/2024 03:50

This is why I chose beef too , wanted something that could be under cooked as that's how my turkeys end up so thought I'd be safer with underdone beeef then underdone turkey but I did a full chicken too and both came out lovely no complaints this year . Thankyou everyone for your replies

Roast turkey with sausage meat stuffing, roast potatoes, gravy and roasted root veg here. Very traditional and also very minimal.

We did follow with plum pudding.

DancingFerret · 26/12/2024 10:52

Beef rib (done to perfection in my Ninja Speedi; I haven't switched on the oven since I bought it last September).

purplemom03 · 26/12/2024 21:44

Pizza sounds good
