Morning everyone. Lying here in bed husband downstairs turning oven on and warming up house etc before kids get up my two are now 20 autism and 15 , my question is now there past the age of Santa's been sneak a peek in the lounge to see if he's been. How does your morning go good and bad stories you know real life do you go down before the kids and just sit and wait or wake them up ?

We wait until everyone is up. Not as exciting as being up with small children at 6am but much more civilised.
Happy Christmas!

Dd (22, home from Uni for Christmas) is still in bed as is DH.

I've been up for a couple of hours - came down and filled dd's stocking, had breakfast, practised Duolingo and now I'm watching It's a Wonderful Life.

It's very different from the toddler years!

DD20 was at the pub with her mates last night and didnt get home til gone midnight so we'll wait until she wakes. Enjoying a coffee just now, might sneak in a dog walk.

Merry Christmas all 🎅

Teenagers are still in bed. I've had a good night's sleep and feel good! Done a quick workout because no-one is up and in preparation for the gluttony today. Made a cafeterie of coffee which I'll make my way through.

Much preferring this unusually chilled Christmas morning than the chaos and exhausting times from their younger years.

Before I sound too smug, It'll probably descend into chaos tonight after an afternoon of eating, drinking and party games with extended family. Teenagers will be partying into the early hours no doubt, I'll probably sneak off to bed.

Not quite an adult but DS is coming up to 17. I was awake at 7:30 and didn't think DS was going to surface before 8 so I came down to make a cuppa and went back to bed. Just as I was going back up DS was getting up. He still opens his stocking gifts at the bottom of our bed so we always go down together. Different to the younger years but some things are the same.

DD's partner 21 has been awake since 4ish and they both got up by 6am as they are excited 😝

When they were DC none of them (4) ever woke up on time let alone early. I used to sit there waiting for them to wake up.

Mid teens here. Both down around 8ish. He's opened presents and scuttled back to his room. He'll be steeling himself for visiting family. She's still looking at hers.
I miss the excitement. It's all quite flat these days.

We’ve opened presents each day since the weekend. We went out for dinner last night and opened the rest before we went to bed!

My young adult kids were up before me this morning. I had two drinks last night (don’t drink very much at all) and felt knackered this morning, got up at 8 but DC were up at 6.

15 yo is awake, 25 yo isn't.
We literally have barely anything to do today. Stockings, visit FIL in care home, cook Xmas lunch (sons are doing that).

I just said to DS2 that I was happy not to be awake at 5.30am.

This morning, I was up at 7am because I was coughing and didn't want to wake DH. Dd got up at 9 (she's 18) and DH appeared at 10:30am...in fairness, all of us needed to slow down a bit.
