Just been sick. Do I cancel hosting?

DD was vomiting on Sat so we kept her in until today. She was totally fine in herself other than throwing up.
We have been here with her before so we use gloves, masks, disinfectant sprays and wash everything.
However, I have just been sick. We are supposed to be hosting my parents, my brother and one aunt on Wednesday.
DH is in bed with a cold - the rest of us have had one already.
So should we no longer go ahead with hosting?
We have bought everything but I'm concerned about my dad who is immunocomprimised due to having had a heart attack a few years ago. He is careful around crowds these days since getting covid a couple of years ago and it really effecting him badly.

48 hour rule is for noro, most sickness bugs 24 hours is enough. I’d make the call in the morning but have everyone aware so they’ve can make a plan b.

OP don’t cancel….postpone and just have Christmas on the 28/29th etc. Have a fake Christmas and hopefully all your food will keep

Whhattttt.
No way. I’d still cancel.
That’s way too close . What happens if they
vom tomorrow and ‘ forget ‘ to tell you.
I would be worried sick.

Good luck 🩷

Agree. People think they stop being contagious at the 48 hour mark, but all the advice about it says the first 48 hours is when they're most contagious (so they're still contagious after 48 hours, just less so). Sharing a home and meals at 72 hours would be a hard no from me.

Thank you for your advice and suggestions. The family are not coming on Wednesday but DH is thinking we will can do 1st Jan. We can freeze a lot of food so that's a good shout.
I feel fine in myself but it won't be 48 hours on Wed. Older DC very upset.
