just a general chat, it’s not a competition, I was just finishing my plans and checking shopping lists and started to wonder.

i do a ham which we have Christmas Eve with jackets and salad then cold for further days.

Christmas Day I do a turkey no other meat unless you count sausages with bacon.

between Christmas and new year, the 29th this year because that’s when my son can come, I shall do lamb.

new year day will be beef

i personally think that’s plenty, especially when you consider I have to do a vegetarian option each time too.

if noticed it’s become more and more common todo two meats on Christmas Day, how many of you actually do this ?

also potatoes, I do roast, that’s it, not mash, no new potatoes just roast, I think with roast parsnips/celeriac/onions then the stuffing Yorkshire puddings steamed carrots/ broccoli / sprouts etc a second choice of potatoes is to much. But that could be just the way I was brought up .

Turkey & gammon for the meats and pigs in blankets with roast and mash potatoes.

parsnips, brocolli, sprouts, carrots & cauliflower cheese the veg.

With yorkshire puddings (primarily for yorkshire mad dd whose christmas dinner if she had a choice would be 5 yorkshires and 10 pigs).

My aunt used to do a ham and turkey, but most other places I've ever been to it's one meat, and we only do turkey. I have bought a pork roast that if planned to have Boxing Day but my son is off to a footie match so I may cook some of it on Christmas Day, I thought I'd just cut it half and have him take it to took at his place (from match to his home which involves a ferry and two busses) but not sure if he wants to be carrying it around all the time!
