Charge switch before Christmas?

Hoping someone can advise!

We have bought our son a switch - first console he has had, so I have no experience really.

Would you charge it up before Christmas day? Trying to work out whether to open the box so it can charge or not?

Sorry if it's a dim question- brain is fudge 😂

We didn’t and I don’t remember any issues on Christmas Day because of it. DS was 5 at the time so not hugely patient!
I think we played it pretty much straight away by hooking it up to the TV. Worst comes to worst, he can play with something else while it charges.
Although, if it’s the lite version that can only be used handheld then you’d have to wait for it to charge.

I would. And play a game and make sure everything is updated etc. Nothing worse than waiting for a download patch on Christmas day.

I would say it's parents perk to play it first anyway...

It should be fine, Niece got one last month and I remember her playing straight away

I'd do this, my son hadn't played his in a while and wanted to play it the other day, there was quite a big update to the software that took a while

If you're going to attach it to the TV don't bother. It charges when on the TV dock. If you're going to do it things first or grown ups will want to watch TV that afternoon, then yes.

They come with a decent amount of charge. But I'd check it was fully updated and that it actually works and then rebox it. If your child is young enough that they won't be able to do it themselves, you could sort their user account out etc.

We made sure it was all ready to go before the day, there was an update that took ages, so glad we did.

Set it up so that you have time to make a note of your password etc. On xmas day it is too easy to get distracted.
