When should I take it out the freezer?

I can't believe I'm the first one asking this but...we have a frozen three bird roast (turkey/duck/guinea fowl) for Christmas. It doesn't have an exact weight on it but said a minimum of 2.5kg. Lunch will be 3pm ish on Christmas Day.

Should I get it out first thing Christmas Eve and pop it in the fridge? Or would last thing on the 23rd be better?

Thank you!

I’m no Nigella, but I’d have it defrosting in the fridge first thing on 23rd if I were you. That’s not huge but quite a few layers of bird to get through.

Internet suggests 2-3 days in the fridge if it is 3kg. No cavity so takes longer than a normal bird.

I like your thinking. Last year I think I got the timing wrong and it wasn't quite as defrosted as it could have been. Morning of the 23rd it is then, thank you both!

Taut it out on the 23rd and rinse it in the packaging under some cold water to take the ice off the outside then into the fridge.
