Apologies if there's already a thread. Please can I see your decorated Christmas cake? I have gone for a "Silent Night" theme this year (and the cake inside is a boiled fruit cake because I left it too late this year!)

I'm doing mine at the weekend. I haven't confirmed a theme yet though. I was thinking of decorating the cake like a drum and doing some nutcracker decorations but not 100 on it yet.

I do bake but not Christmas cakes ( my sister makes ours) but not decorated like yours..

I'm decorating a cake for the first time ever this year as my mum, at 92, has finally hung up her Christmas cake making boots.
It will be royal icing snow though, as I don't like fondant and definitely can't ice a smooth cake otherwise. Yours are gorgeous though!

Every year I decorate with icing, and then the kids add plastic tat! This year's is quite simple. I've also included some bonus cookies.

Oh wow. I'm doing mine tomorrow but I can hands up say it won't be anything like these 😧

It's is absolutely dripping with whisky though 😃 I have been feeding it for weeks

Also last year's. Don't really like icing so only decorate with marzipan. Slightly overdid the green food colouring.

I feel very inadequate now. I'm going to ice mine on Thursday (assisted by 3 year old granddaughter) I was planning smooth ish white fondant icing all over with a ribbon tied round it.Granddaughter has a selection of tat to stick on top. What could possibly ho wrong?

What lovely cakes. I love the snowman one. I don't like rich fruit cake but think I might try to find time to decorate a sponge cake.

It's so lovely looking at everyone's different designs! That snowman one is utterly adorable.

I've done polar bears the last few years, this year I want to make a little red Labrador topper but it depends on the time.

Mine. I make the children gingerbread houses every year, so I used scraps to make mini houses. The trees are rosemary sprigs. Idea stolen from Pinterest.
