Anyone else twitching?

I am trying very hard not to twitch but my DS loves those TY teddies with the sparkly eyes and I have one in my Amazon basket that's calling me 🥲 he's very into soft toys but I haven't got him any (yet). Is anyone else twitching and if so, what for? There was also a Schleich animal on his list which is £7 on Amazon (it's really small though!) and I am trying hard not to get it but it's so tempting. There's a PS4 game I know my DD would love but she already has more than DS (same budget though).

Yes and it’s so annoying as all done even wrapped. But I saw a Xbox game DC1 would like. It’s in my Amazon basket and I’m really trying not to. He does have Xbox vouchers in his stocking but my thinking is he could spend that on other games.

I had quite a big twitch and bought the DC monitors for their rooms so they can game more easily upstairs.

Dp argued that we definitely would have got them these in the next year (which is true) and we will be able to have some peace and quiet in the living room over Christmas.

I'm not even sorry!

In my defense, we can afford it and the dc are not horribly spoiled.

Despite having spent a fortune on my two (26 and 18), I twitched today on my youngest and got him tickets to see Harry Mack (no, me neither) in April next year at the Brixton Academy

I'm twitching on a switch for my 2nd child. It seems he has loads of stuff but no big ticket items. Other kids have a big wow present.

I have twitched a few times over the weekend, I found a book dd2 will love and ordered her a small soft toy that she likes…..when ordering the toy I noticed the website had a sale and ended up buying a mug for a friend. I now feel bad as dd2 has more than dd1 but dd1 is fussy and there’s something she wants that I can only pay upfront for (similar to an experience).

I almost wish I was twitching this year but I just haven’t seen anything to twitch on! My two actually have plenty and I know they’ll be very happy with what we’ve bought but to me their gift bundles just look a bit, well, boring 😣.

I think it’s because for the past few years there’s been a “main” gift such as a phone or laptop or console and before they were of an age for tech gifts there was always a much wanted toy or Lego set or whatever. Whereas this year they don’t need anything techy. Well, ds 13 is getting a Fitbit and they’re not cheap but… yeah just seems a bit lacking somehow.

Im being silly of course and they’re getting things they’ll definitely be pleased with such as trainers/branded hoody/crocs and a couple of surprises so they’re certainly not missing out. I suppose in previous years there’s always been something in particular that I’m excited for them to open/see their reaction to so I think that’s what’s missing for me. Of course it’s not really about me so I’ll just have to get over myself .

sounds like you’ve done well. It’s definitely more difficult when they get older and have most things.

Twitched on just one more Lego set…

DS has just turned 8 and is beginning to ask questions about Father Christmas so this might be his last year believing! We went to see a Santa on Saturday and he asked for some Lego…I’ve got him loads but it’s from me and DP (Santa just brings one or two presents and stocking) so I twitched and got another. I could have just shaken all the presents I’d already wrapped until I found some Lego to unwrap and re-wrap in the Santa paper, but Amazon prime was less effort 😂 he’s also had the most incredible year and quite frankly deserves it!

I've spent my budget for my 10 year old granddaughter. Included is a Girls World as she loves make up and hair styling. I've just seen another in Argos - it looks exactly like my granddaughter - beautiful, dark, curly hair. The one I got her is a blue eyed blonde.
I think I'll succumb in the name of Equality.

I've also exceeded the budget for dh, BUT we desperately need a new bathroom cabinet and I've seen a perfect one for just £35.
Not the most romantic of gifts but he's very houseproud and I know on Christmas day, he'll go and install it and probably clean the bathroom.
Win Win - I'll probably succumb.

Oh yes! Was worried that DS1 had no fun presents so bought him some adult Lego. Which meant I'd spent more on him than DS2 so got DS2 a T-shirt. Then DS1 mentioned that he really needs a new guitar strap....and on it goes 🤣

Yep! Just ordered a cat squishmallow onesie for dd, the gifts didn't seem complete without it.

I've a few things in my basket for hubbe/ds I'm trying not to click Buy It Now...

Yep - some Victoria’s Secret pants for (they are literally plain black hipster briefs but have VS on the waistband 🤦🏻‍♀️) and 2 sketch pads, I’m ’just looking’ online as we watch TV I’m telling myself it won’t arrive in time haha.

I haven’t even finished my actual shopping yet, let alone had time to twitch!

I would like to twitch, but I can't because Holyhead is broken and deliveries to Ireland (where I am) from Amazon have all been delayed until Dec 28th. DH will just have to be happy with what I've already bought him - which is actually quite a lot, but there's always room for just one more!
