What snack/treat bits are on your list/have you bought?

Off to Tesco today to buy the in the non perishables.

On the list so far:
Pringles x 4
Roses tub
Celebrations tub
Malteser truffles
Haribo sweets
Crackers for cheese
Pepsi max
Shloer
Appletiser

I can't think what else.

We aren't big drinkers so not fussed on alcohol. Will buy cheese/meats/fruit ect on Christmas week.

Christmas foods and drinks come out on Christmas Eve and run out when they run out - we have 4 kids so it won't take long 😂

The Doritos chilli heatwave are delicious. And we like the M&S Merry Munch

I’ve already got:
pringles
heros x2
m&s large pretzels
crispy truffles from Lidl
shortbread
pespi max

fancy breadsticks

I’ve already got:

Biscuits for cheese
Heroes
Celebrations
Quality street
After Eights
Choc orange segments
M&S choc biscuits
Victoria Biscuits
Treeslets
Mini cheddars
Twiglets (these have been opened by DC to try)
Dry roasted nuts
Pringles (various flavours)

I do need to get a tub of Roses and some mint chocolates.

These will last us in to the new year hopefully as I really don’t want to be topping up snacks during the holidays!

I usually love doing our Christmas snack shop. This year however I have had a diabetes diagnosis and it’s just put me off buying anything for myself or even really eating at the moment - feeling a bit sorry for myself.

I’ve got the kids their favorites though-

BBQ and Sour Cream Pringles
a few different flavours of Doritos as eldest DD loves to make nachos for the family
honey roasted cashew nuts
roast peanuts
stollen bites
Shloer

Tortilla chips
Salsa
Chooclate brazils
Biscuits for cheese (and various cheeses, chutney)
1 tub of celebrations
Caramel shortbread
Gingerbread oreos & digestives
Pretzels

TianasBayou · 15/12/2024 08:41

I'll add

Piccalilli (for cheese and cold meats)
Refilled Quality Street tin (so ours is stuffed with favourites)
G&B mini chocolate bars
Cocktail ingredients and a sack of ice (house of young adults not kids now!)
Basic tortillas, salsa, cheese, refried beans etc (for nachos grande)
Pretzels
Plain nuts to fancy up with spices etc

I really like the pretzel type snack trays you can get in most supermarkets other bits I'd add

Bread sticks or crostini / cheese bites

Olives and tiny cocktail pickle onion

Bacon jerky / chorizo crisps

Dried banana / apple / trail mix

Taytocrisps · 15/12/2024 10:07

I've just bought these so far (fancy biscuits).

I'll get some cheese, crackers, olives and parma ham.

Also some nachos and dips.

Fancy chocolates.

Melon for breakfast. Not a snack exactly but something I wouldn't usually buy.

That's about it, I think. I'll ask DD if she wants anything else.

I try to have a pre-prepared list for snacks and stick to it. In previous years, I bought a lot of snacks/sweet things impulsively and they were hanging around the house for months. So I buy things I'll definitely use and remind myself that the shops will be open again on the 27th if I want/need to top up again. And I often get a tin of biscuits or a box of chocolates as a present from family or a neighbour.

But obviously if you've a big family or you're hosting for a big group of people, you'll go through a lot of snacks.

My word this thread is making my mouth water!

I need to buy some hot chocolate as I got my frothing gadget out of the cupboard and DH fathomed how to work it ( I was all "well it worked
last year and it heats so I don't know why it won't froth" ....the whisk was upside down )

More crisps probably and some M&S crackers
And see what gaps are on the pantry shelves after DS has been in there 😄
