I just sat down to wrap presents after putting it off for 2 weeks. I wrapped the first one and thought 'oh this isn't lovely, don't know why I put it off', 3 presents in I got frustrated trying to wrap awkward shapes and then 6 presents in I have run out of sellotape mid present and thought 'screw this' lol.

Just counted it up and I have 35 presents left to wrap. Guess I'll be buying more sellotape tomorrow.

How many presents has everyone else still got to wrap?

5 presents that i have and probably another 5 that i haven't got yet.

teatimefortiger · 13/12/2024 18:58

I'll come round!! I love wrapping!

teatimefortiger · 13/12/2024 18:58

FYI, You will need to supply sellotape and Baileys though.

SnowJamz · 13/12/2024 20:37

I love the idea of wrapping and then every year once I start doing it realise I don’t like it.

I buy pretty paper and accessories like little bells to go on the presents but then can’t be bothered once I am a few presents in.

EducatingArti · 13/12/2024 20:40

All of them still to do!

2gorgeousboys · 13/12/2024 20:43

I've only just started buying let alone wrapping. I do love wrapping though.

Standingontheedgeofforever · 13/12/2024 20:43

Have wrapped the DCs' stocking fillers apart from the one I seem to have misplaced 😬 but still got their mains and everyone else's to do!

ChristmasIsComing2024 · 13/12/2024 20:44

I thought I was almost done but I’ve just had a look on the app and I’ve probably got about 70 to wrap still which doesn’t sound right to me but I’ll be wrapping my partners presents to his family too and my parents and my partners nieces are getting stockings this year so lots of little presents for me to wrap!!

Sunblessed · 13/12/2024 20:45

All wrapped but I save the bows, ribbons and tags for Xmas Eve.
It’s the nice bit to do without the stress of wrapping, getting caught!

anonny55 · 13/12/2024 20:48

All done here. I love wrapping! Did DP, his family's, my family's and also did all of my sister and BIL wrapping for them. 1 more thing to come from Amazon tomorrow and we're ready😁

Humphreyshead · 13/12/2024 20:49

Please can we see photos? X

Just a few things left to wrap. I’ve been really organised this year with wrapping. Usually I end up with a last minute panic. I find that once I get started, I’m ok and on a roll.

Xatz63 · 14/12/2024 15:15

Just started mine today but just the stocking presents Mine look like a 4 year old has wrapped them up

frozendaisy · 14/12/2024 15:28

Wrapped a few, done most of the awkward shapes, mostly boxes left they are a joy you can do them with a Bailey's in hand!

I just don't like doing it all in a rush so have learnt my lesson!

I do like it though, under the right circumstances it's mediative almost

JingleB · 14/12/2024 15:33

Do you have a tape dispenser? Those heavy ones that mean you can use one hand to tape?
If not, order one immediately for next day delivery. They make wrapping a doddle.

I have several presents that haven’t arrived. All the rest are wrapped.

I shut the door with a Do Not Enter sign, put on something festive and revel in 2 hours of peace while I wrap.

AsparagusGirl · 14/12/2024 15:35

Someone please tell me to get the good quality wrap that scissors glide through and looks nice? I always used to get it 3 for 2 in m&s around now but then I had surplus and then bought from paperchase last year so it's been a few years now. There were 2 rolls of wrapping paper in the Christmas cupboard but they are terrible quality and were probably bought by DH last year (not my style) and I have just had a tantrum trying to wrap my BIL's awkwardly shaped present and of course it ripped!

@Sunblessed i would be worried I mixed the gifts up!

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 14/12/2024 15:39

I wrapped all the gifts yesterday but still have the stockings to tackle, might do that tomorrow night.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 14/12/2024 15:46

Doing it in batches here. Probably in excess of 100 presents to do easily. We've 4 kids, 6 neices/nephews, countless teachers, and multiple secret Santa's. Each of the kids has 15 presents (we get money from others so purchase their gifts along with our own and wrap them!). Plus stockings, which have around 10 gifts in each.
We've done the majority, just 2 kids stockings left and a few of the family presents to go. Thank fuck!

DarkForces · 14/12/2024 15:51

I've invested in reusable bags as I really can't be bothered to wrap !

Musicaltheatremum · 14/12/2024 15:53

@housethatbuiltme I am on Mumsnet thinking I need to wrap presents. Needs to be fine this weekend. I hate the job

daffodilandtulip · 14/12/2024 15:54

All wrapped except for one that appears to be floating in space somewhere. And I ran out of paper just for this one too, so it's going to be wrapped in an odd bit of last year's 😤

destiel00 · 14/12/2024 16:02

1 x stocking gift left to wrap (in tissue paper)

Sunblessed · 14/12/2024 16:28

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 14/12/2024 15:37

I always put them in bags/boxes with the name on the outside- then I know what’s what when I go to write the tags, tie the ribbons 🎀

Faff but it’s all worth it for Xmas Eve
