£150 secret santa budget - suggestions please

Doggoconundrum · 11/12/2024 21:39

It's for me. I need to choose what I want for the family secret santa that's not so secret. I have no idea what I want and need suggestion! It's a decent budget so would like something nice.

There's nothing that I really "need"...I'm 8m pp with 2 under 2 so my body has been all over the place for the past few years and my head is firmly in children mode. Although I need them, I don't think I want clothes as I think my body is still changing. I want to use up all my own skincare/make up etc.

Suggestions welcome :) I'm getting a lot of hassle to choose asap!

A nice handbag?

RandomMess · 11/12/2024 21:44

A day or evening out?

catiscosy · 11/12/2024 21:44

Handbag
Boots or nice (comfy) shoes for walking with the buggy
Coat
Vouchers for spa, massage - anything just for you
Tickets to a show or concert

What do you like? Having a baby doesn't mean you can't have the nice things for you anymore.

AyeYCan · 11/12/2024 21:46

For that money I would ask for lego... But that might not be your thing 😂
A Kindle? A watch? Vouchers for something you love doing (spa, a show, a football match)? A new coat?

pizzaHeart · 11/12/2024 21:48

Theatre tickets, spa voucher, money towards weekend away, voucher for afternoon tea, gym membership (if you won’t be offended I know some would), new Kindle ( I think colour version is available now or soon), colour / style consultation.

Ineffable23 · 11/12/2024 21:49

One or more of the below...

New boots/shoes?
A kindle.
A year's audible subscription and a lovely box of chocolates.
A heated throw for the sofa.
A bottle of good whisky.
Cashmere scarf
A sewing machine
Fabric to do lovely crafting
Voucher for a spa day

Obviously you may well not want any of these!

I guess if I'm thinking about gifts I think about:

  1. Things I like but can't justify buying it luxury versions of things I already have (whisky, cashmere scarf)
  2. Things that will encourage me to take time for myself (spa day, kindle, fabric)
  3. Things that will make my day to day life better (boots, heated throw)

It may be worth thinking about those categories for you?

QueenOfWeeds · 11/12/2024 21:50

For that money I would have a nice spa session, a (few? Depending where you are) PT session, or some nice cooking/bake ware.

I had some post natal PT sessions and I felt so much better after them. Mine were during the day and there was a little play area to put the baby.

Sheknowsyouknowaye · 11/12/2024 21:52

A food processor. New winter coat. Cashmere jumper.

NantesElephant · 11/12/2024 21:52

Can you tell us a bit more about you?

Are you a foodie? Do you drink?

Were you active / sporty before kids and are you feeling the urge to move more?

Are you spiritual?

Do you enjoy travel? Art? The outdoors?

Where ‘roughly’ are you? Eg North East England

persisted · 11/12/2024 21:53

I'd have a look at subscriptions, there are all sorts.
Flowers, books, whatever favourite food you'd like to drop through the door every month...

Lovemusic82 · 11/12/2024 21:54

A coat?
Dr marten boots?
A yearly pass too the gym/pool (though possibly not doable with 2 under 2)?
A subscription of some kind?
vouchers for spa treatments/massage/hair cut?

SaagAloopa · 11/12/2024 21:55

Is there a charity dear to your heart?

GiantRoadPuzzle · 11/12/2024 22:01

I’m postpartum so also don’t want clothes & have asked for the following:

Bone conducting headphones
Loop earplugs
Nike trainers
Neom diffuser oils
Photo frames so we actually put up pictures of DC2
New nursing bras

JumpstartMondays · 11/12/2024 22:08

Slow cooker, bread maker, food processor, coffee machine?
Digital photo frame for all the photos of DC that you don't ever get around to printing out?
Smart watch?
Nice necklace, bracelet or earrings?

GettingStuffed · 11/12/2024 22:10

A nice perfume?

Hockeymum18 · 11/12/2024 22:12

A printer for your phone so you can actually print out photos of your children? (Or yourself, your pets, or anything else you like!)

Winesoup · 11/12/2024 22:21

Fitbit 6 which has google pay - it's fantastic for when you're out and have forgotten purse and phone, and you can set alarms, get notifications of messages as well as step count and other fitness stuff.

Or a good properly waterproof but cosy coat for when you're out with kids, all cosy under their rain covers and blankets.

Princesssuperstar · 11/12/2024 22:22

A nice spa day for you and a friend? DH can have the kids for the day whilst you get pampered?

TotallyTwisted · 11/12/2024 22:24

Tell Santa you'd like a festive bunch of flowers and the rest in John Lewis vouchers (other retailers are available).

MissMoan · 11/12/2024 22:33

I agree with the suggestions for a Spa weekend!

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 11/12/2024 22:33

I'd want vouchers for that value. But then I don't want a handbag or spa day. Maybe a le creuset.

hardarara · 11/12/2024 22:40

hotel voucher?

BadlydoneHelen · 11/12/2024 22:42

AirPods?

Doggoconundrum · 12/12/2024 08:45

Thanks so much everyone for your replies! Some great suggestions.

In terms of what I'm into - right now I have time for very little... my partner works shifts and I'm still on maternity so free time is minimal and by the time I've finished what I need to do in the evenings I'm done in! Would love something to occupy me that's for myself though.

But I used to be fairly into racquet sports, cooking, did a bit of baking, I'm also quite outdoorsy. We have a campervan and my job is outdoor focused also.
