Does anyone know anything about Switch games?

I want to buy Zelda:Tears of the Kingdom for DH but he has a switch lite and not a switch. Can I buy a game marked for the switch? I know nothing!

It should still be compatible - some games require the detachable joysticks so can only be used on the Switch but after a quick google it doesn’t seem that game is one of them 👍🏻

DD has a Switch lite and I can hear her yelling at Link from here. TotK definitely works on it.

Does he have breath of the wild? Tears of the kingdom is the sequel. Both games are fine on a switch lite.

Yes he has finished breath of the wild. I do remember that. He has a steam deck as well but after quizzing my seven year old I discovered he uses the switch to play Zelda so just wanted to make sure I didn’t buy something totally incompatible or for the wrong platform. I have ordered it now, thank you all for your help!!
