Indoor Obstacle Course

Hello,

My DS (8) has asked FC for an indoor obstacle course (Ninja Kids style apparently). He knows FC won’t put it up but bring the equipment.

Does anyone have any out of the box ideas on what we could get? We don’t have space outdoors for it as it’s too small. I’ve looked at the over the door bars etc but very pricey. I was thinking of the gymnast bars but they take up a lot of space! Any ideas?!

Thank you.

There won't be that much you can do for an 8 year old obstacle course wise inside as they are too big. I used to make them all the time when mine were under 5 but unless you have a huge house and lots of money you are going to struggle especially to set something up that will be a challenge. Maybe a pass to one of the Ninja Warrior indoor play places might be better

I did this during lockdown: stepping stones are the main component as they are endlessly re-configurable and can be stored easily. I got a balance bar on local ebay. We had a Bilibo wobble thingy from toddlers which was good for sitting in, dragging along, stepping on. Plus a couple of hoops, skipping ropes and an “action” dice list (“throw 1 slither like a snake, throw 2 jump like a frog, etc etc). It was a lot of fun, and still used now in various forms.

Meant to add - it is basically an extended game of the floor is lava - they do anything they can to avoid touching the floor 😆

Thank you. My husband has been trying to tell me this but I have been in denial - hoping there was a way to make it happen for him.
