Craft idea like diamond art

Can anyone give me any ideas? For a teenage boy who doesn't fancy cross stitch, crochet or diamond art but wants something similarly pattern-following, as a little project to keep his hands busy. I'm completely stumped.

Pyrography- burning a pattern on wood. In the 80's, at my annual primary school fayre, there was a classroom all set up with these burning things every metre. You'd buy something from wood, which generally had a pattern pre-printed on it- Christmas decorations, sign, door stop, book ends etc and you'd sit there using the hot pointy thing. Clearly different health and safety back then 😆

My brother when we were growing up had a lots of airfix kits! Do they still make them?

Adult scratch art kits keep appearing on my socials. Looking at them for my daughters aged 14 & 16 but so many to choose from!

I like Timberkits and they can be painted as well as assembled

You can make pretty complex things with Hama beads.

I'm so grateful for all these ideas. Thank you. I've bought a sticker book to start with and have a set of bookmarks of other ideas ready to go. The k'nex is back down from the loft.
