Snow before Christmas?

DS is massively excited by the weather forecasting site WXCharts which seems to be predicting widespread snow in the days before Christmas. It's been picked up by news media but I think we probably need to manage expectations - the dates are still two weeks ahead. I still remember the excitement of snow falling when I was going to bed on Christmas Eve but that's a few years (decades!) ago.

Which areas????

I'm not sure how accurate it would be this far out but online news coverage suggests Scotland, NE and NW England,, Wales. One suggestion that it could reach further south. But it's all coming from that one online weather forecasting site - nothing predicted by Met Office for example.

Sorry but hopefully not

Nothing worse especially when you have travelling to do

I think we have more chance of it happening this year than previous years, some parts have already seen snow early this year. It looks like it’s going to get colder during the run up to Christmas. We rarely get snow for Christmas, I’m down south and it’s rare we even get a frost before Christmas but this year it’s been colder.keeping my fingers crossed for a white Christmas 🎄

Same here @Justhereforthechristmasthreads I remember how exciting snow was as a child but now I worry more about getting home safely!
We got stuck on a motorway once after leaving home against our better judgement so as to avoid 'ruining' the Christmas that a family member had 'spent months planning' - we couldn't go forward, no way to turn back, freezing cold...
