Smart Work Backpack

DH is in his 50s and will need to start doing a bit more daily travelling for work. I thought a new backpack would be a good Christmas present (as in it's the only idea I've really had!).

He'd need to fit in his backpack, notebooks, lunch, water bottle etc.

I really like the look of the ones that have a roll top. Ideally not more than £100, but if one was perfect I could go up (and go discount code hunting).

There are so many options out there so I just wondered if anyone had any personal recommendations. Thanks a lot.

I got my husband an Osprey backpack for Christmas. They do roll top ones, not my style but they do seem popular. We went to Blacks so could have a look at some different ones and he picked one he liked (subtle difference between them that I wouldn’t have been able to choose)

John Lewis has a good selection

Look at Rains - they have a wide range.

I got my grown up son one of these last year and highly recommend it - www.stubbleandco.com/products/the-roll-top-20l?variant=40445040165050

Thank you all, these are all great ideas. It’s so helpful to have recommendations from people who have actually bought the product.

After reading a million mumsnet threads on this I bought a knomo from eBay. I love it and it has lasted ages. My only regret is doesn’t have a drinks holder on the side but it makes the silhouette more sleek. The straps are very comfortable. I would buy a roll-top as it is a pain in the arse to unroll it every time.

Here's a cheaper one in the Ortlieb range OP. They are very well made. DH got lots of compliments about the bag before the became more common. He's off to the gym now with his https://www.ortlieb.com/uk_en/velocity-ps+R402007

Velocity PS

That's new: Handy details, new color concept and perfect if you want to do without the conventional tarp looks, because Velocity PS comes in a sustainable PVC free material.
