Picture books suitable for 8 year olds

As the title says really, doesn't have to be Christmas themed. The child is capable reader, has read Roald Dahl, Diary of Wimpy kid etc but they would really like some brightly illustrated picture books that are not baby ish. Rather than longer books which have the odd pictures but are comic style pictures!

Jamie Smart does graphic cartoon books - Looshkin, Bunny 'v' Monkey etc Lots of stuff about farts.

Neil Cameron does a Mega Robos series

Rabbit & Bear

We have the lion the witch and the wardrobe, hardback, beautiful illustrations, loved by 9 yr old. Currently reading a gorgeously illustrated hardback of the first Harry Potter book, also loved.
We also have alovely poetry book of a similar ilk.

Just remembered we have a hardback illustrated version of War horse also, perfect for 8/9 yr old. I think we have more that might appeal, I'll look.

The Polar Express and Where Snow Angels Go. There’s also an abridged illustrated version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe which is beautiful.

My 8 year old loves a book we have on Aesop's fables. Plenty of pictures in it
