Hi

Do you have inspiration for gifts for 11/12 (year 7) daughters.

We were planning on a laptop but now not sure. She's completely uninspired by anything it seems.

My DD the same age has asked for more Lego sets and squishmallows.

VegTrug · 23/11/2024 20:31

Same issue here with almost 10yr old DD. She’s got so much stuff that there’s not much left to want! Her letter to Santa only had 4 things on it, bless her.
I’m going to get her a new bike and a mini fridge for her bedroom (no idea what she’ll put in it, but it’ll be a novelty I suppose), Lush bath bombs, a couple of the smaller Our Generation sets, a board game called ‘Ghost Castle’ as she loves anything spooky, make up & stationery and that’s about it so far Confused

For your girls, something I was recommended but ultimately decided DD was not quite old enough to understand, was a board game called Ticket to Ride. Would be perfect for age 11/12?

DD just turned 13 and had AirPods for her joint birthday and Christmas gift. We actually traded in an old pair so it was part exchange rather than full price. For Christmas she is getting another pair of leggings (never has enough as she has sport 4 days in a row) and a novel that she wanted.

Last year she had a pair of boots, plus some hairbands and a little ‘bejewelled’ box for putting away her bracelets.

AnnaDelvorkina · 23/11/2024 20:39

The year before she had a ´smart’ watch from Decathlon, a pair of tactile gloves, a Harry Potter magic eye colouring book,

and some mini ´pods’ of shower gel from Sephora that I thought were super cool and she…didn’t.

Would she be into journaling at all? I've seen some gorgeous journaling sets for teens/preteens that come with all the stickers, tapes pens etc for doing journals/scrap books

LilacLilyBird · 23/11/2024 20:46

My DD still secretly loved her sylvanians at 10 - she hid them every time her friends came over Grin

I might have got her a decent phone at that age because she was walking alone to school and back once her DB had started secondary school

LilacLilyBird · 23/11/2024 20:47

Wireless over ear headphones

Bluetooth speakers

LilacLilyBird · 23/11/2024 20:48

@VegTrug be aware that mini fridges can be really annoyingly loud

We got our 11 year old a laptop last year and he loves it. He does lots of educational things on it that he really enjoys. He's getting samsung ear buds this year.

YorkshireFelix · 23/11/2024 20:56

My dd is turning 11 just before Christmas so this is split between birthday and Xmas.

Badge maker (a proper metal craft one rather than a kiddy type kit)
New ipad
Theatre tickets
CD player (one of the only things she's requested which is a bit random but she thinks they are cool 🤣)
White Fox hoodie
Hello Kitty Crocs
Pyjamas
Sylvanian set
Hello Kitty make it Miniverse
A couple of graphic novels
A couple of Hello Kitty plushies
So body spray
Lush bubble wand
Hot water bottle

And bits for her stocking like a bubble tea kit, lip balm, Sylvanian blind bag, sweetie jewellery making set, stickers

YoNoLoSe · 23/11/2024 20:57

Books from series she likes
Clothes related to a hobby
Craft kit (we went with a mini pottery starter kit)
Earrings
Bigger oversized hoodie
Pink cloud Ariana Grande perfume
Board game

Ticket to Ride is a great game and dd 9.5 has been playing for a few years.

My 11yos list

Shes asked for Converse & a boxing punch pad, oversized jumper or oodie. Her other 2 asks are related to her favourite TV show and actress.

What else we’ve got:

Multiple funko pops, one we sent off to get autographed.
Magic - card game
Byoma set
Satin pjs
Hot chocolate crackers
Nail set - nail bag filled with polishes, files, dryer etc..
Cosmetic organizer
some lip oils and balms
a couple of dupe jellycat Christmas toys
earings

She originally asked for Sol deJanerio perfume but decided she didn’t want to wait and bought herself some.

DD1 is 11 and in year 7. She never struggles for ideas and has expensive tastes! We are getting a family present of a switch this year but on her wish list (which she won't get all but some might be birthday) is:
-nail gel strips and UV lamp
-nike pro shorts and leggings
-Nike dunks

  • skincare (e.g. elf, byoma, pixie, drunk elephant)
-tickets to a musical (e.g. Matilda, mean girls, legally blonde, hamilton)
  • Guinness book of records
  • shark onesie
-warmies sloths

Last year she had an Oodie (which she lives in), hairdryer and curling wand, personalised football kit and boot bag, crochet stuff, bubble tea.

DD1 has never been into Lego or dolls or any specific type of toys so I think her list always looks quite 'old' iyswim. DD2 is nearly 10 and her wish list is mainly about the Lego sets and a reborn doll (she collects outrageously realistic and expensive ones!)- she wouldn't consider trainers a gift and couldn't care less about brands (yet)!.

DD is 11 (Yr6) and this is her Christmas list:

  • Instax camera
  • Blanket
  • Earring making set
  • Resin kit for jewellery/key rings crafting
  • Chocolate
  • Squshimallows
  • Velvetiser from Hotel Chocolat
  • Filaments for her 3D pen
  • Origami set
  • Art supplies
Normandy144 · 24/11/2024 08:23

Thanks all for your inspiration. Lots of ideas there!

Just a heads up, the Velvetiser is tiny! You only get half the average teacup and it makes it lukewarm so you have to microwave it afterwards

Ahh ok it may be that my DD is autistic and struggles with instructions

SootspriteSearcher · 24/11/2024 21:10

My dd is 12 and year 8, her list consists of
Sol de jenero fake sprays (the way she sprays I'm not paying full price!)
Arianna Grande perfume
Crocs - Wednesday ones.
Books from her amazon to read wishlist
A new fidget toy
Some more crystals
Noah kahn or gracie abrams hoodie
Olivia rodrigo merchandise
Make up, lip oils, glitter setting spray, mascara..
Compact mirror.

We will get her most of that and I've also bought her a silky pillowcase to help her hair not frizz, her own hairdryer, heatless curlers, wicked lush bathbomb, tickets to six.

Other things she uses alot are an echo dot with Spotify subscription, wireless ear buds (cheapies as shes forgetful and will lose expensive ones!), oodie, fluffy socks, zip up waterproof pouch for her book & book light, hama beads, jewellery making set, loom bands.

purpleme12 · 24/11/2024 21:16

Those magnatile things

Cam the cat shaped frying pan for pancakes

Biscoff sundae glass and kit

I have many other ideas from what I've seen in the shops and I'm quite sure she'll think of some too!

Thanks. I've actually got her a milk frother from Lidl at a fraction of the price!

MammaGnomes · 04/12/2024 08:21

Byoma skin care
Netball rebound net
